Mexican senator calls for US to vote Democratic
El Universal (Mexico City) 5/20/10
Speaking from the US while part of President Calderons entourage, the president of the Mexican senate, Carlos Navarrete Ruiz, called on the Hispanic community to deliver a triumphant victory to the Democratic party in order to assist the White House in negotiating an immigration reform. The senator of the left-leaning PRD party said, I have no problem expressing that, as I see the circumstances in the US Congress, it would be useful and would serve Mexico if the migrants give a victory to the Democrats to increase the majority in congress and this will permit the reform that is needed to protect migrants. [Only five readers' comments followed this story. All accused their own politicians of meddling in US politics.]

Republicans reject Calderons request
A request by Mexicos President Felipe Calderon to re-establish prohibiting the sales of automatic assault weapons was rejected by US Republican legislators, although Democrats estimate they have the power to bring it about. Republican Senator John Cornyn said, I have much respect for President Calderon and his commitment to combat the cartels, but I dont believe that US citizens should relinquish any of their liberties in answer to problems of another country.

Mexican Army frees 55 hostages
The Mexican Army liberated 55 Central and South Americans being held captive in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Responding to a citizen report, the soldiers found and freed the undocumented migrants and arrested six of their captors. Among the migrants were five minors and 12 women.

Increase in migrants deported
Despite Arizonas disputed law SB 1070 which is not yet in effect, the number of deportations through Nogales, Sonora, has already increased nearly threefold, according to the citys mayor, Jose Angel Hernandez Barajas. We dont have to await SB 1070, he said, the problem is already here. [From the wording of the article, and its reference to Central Americans, it would appear that the "deportations" are simply those departing south voluntarily rather than by official means.]
El Sol de Mexico (Mexico City) 5/20/10
Providence, RI The state of Rhode Island is considering legislation similar to Arizonas SB 1070. According to an official communique issued by the state, the law would authorize competent authorities to determine, during legal contact with the individual, a persons immigration status if there was suspicion that the person could be illegal. The law would also provide that if the person is illegal and is in convicted of a law violation, he would be turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. The bill was introduced by Peter G. Palumbo, a Democrat.

Yep, they have a TV channel here in central TX on one of the free antennae channels exclusively for immigrants. It is lawyers and public officials telling (in espanol)the vatos how to cheat the system and get a green card. criminals, all of em.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I can easily imagine. All kinds of slimy “Abogados” will take your case to flim flam the immigration system. Even worse we have numerous immigrant kids (lots of Asians) in law school at this very moment getting training to be immigration lawyers
Isn’t that one of the things that can get a non-citizen kicked out of Mexico? Trying to influence local or national politics will get you deported there.
Why do we put up with this crap?
Maybe we can get CHAVEZ and CASTRO (and AminiJihadd) to offer their full endsorsements as well!
People of Mexico, rise up in revolution against the privileged class of politicians and drug dealers. Take back your nation from these idiots, who have all the time in the world to tell the United States what to do, but can’t manage to even rig an election without getting caught. Not that getting caught means anything...
REMEMBER Americans:
Mexico WANTS you to Vote DEMOCRAT!!
The GOP should produce several million campaign posters with that endorsement on it for November.
Find the guys who kept the East Germans in, and hire them to keep the Mexicans out.
This American citizen calls for a declaration of war against Mexico. Their politicians are trying to subvert our nation!
Our athiestic marxist regime will not be happy until our Constitutional Republic is utterly destroyed. The POS in the White House has another almost three years to accomplished this unless “it” is removed from office earlier
I can not sufficiently express my rage. IMO it is likely that Calderon and Co. are sending known criminals north to be rid of them and to perpetrate an invasion/revolution in the U.S..
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
And I would like you Mexican folks to give away free drugs to all your citizens.
Mexican senator calls for US to vote Democratic
NO THANKS. You may like living in a 3rd world shithole Country but that does not mean we want to turn ours into one...
“This American citizen calls for a declaration of war against Mexico. Their politicians are trying to subvert our nation!”
Might as well...they and their supporters declared war on us a LONG time ago.
“Isnt that one of the things that can get a non-citizen kicked out of Mexico? Trying to influence local or national politics will get you deported there.”
It will get you jailed and then deported.
“Why do we put up with this crap”
Follow the $$$...someone profits.
The problem for Señor Ruiz is that those in the Hispanic community who fought for the right to legally vote in this country, overwhelmingly can’t stand the illegals sucking at the Gubmint teat. We shall se in November, shall we not? When voters are sufficiently pissed off, the results are amazing. Witness Scott Brown’s victory here in MA. We got out the vote, serious.
What CAN be done is far different from what WILL be done.

The U.S. press has given ample coverage today to the visit to the U.S. by Mexicos President Calderon. The same reports have appeared in the Mexican press and need not be repeated here. Instead, here follows an introspective view by a Mexican journalist.
El Porvenir (Monterrey, Nuevo Leon) 5/19/10
A fractured nation Portion of an op/col by Mauricio Merino, titled as shown.
I ask myself if it is possible to build a national identity on the basis of a fractured national cohesion. But what we are experiencing in the year of the Bi-Centennial is instead one of the most tragic and violent moments of our history. Pure violence, with no reference to the memory of the epics of our rebellion. Im anguished to think that a mixture of egoisms, over-indulgences, ire, loss of hope and impunity has favored the ever more frequent rebirth of crime groups.
Mexico is a hostile place, where there is no hope for a prosperous and peaceful life; where poverty is overcome by taking money from someone who already has it. Where the shortcut to dignity and life consists of disobedience of the laws and of formal authorities.

On Wednesday morning, unknown persons dumped a mans head on the front hallway of the City Hall of Tuxtepec. Officials did not disclose the contents of a message left with those remains. The other two heads were found by a nearby bus terminal. The photograph below accompanied this article.

More Zacatecans in the U.S. than in Zacatecas
A forum titled Health and Migration in Zacatecas was held at the Univ. of Zacatecas on May 17 & 18. Among the findings: migration has caused a loss population in 74 percent of that states communities, and has also brought inflation, addiction to individual monetary remittances, family disintegration and chronic mental conditions to females.
Rodolfo Garcia Zamora, a researcher at that university, said that 43 out of the 58 communities of the state have lost population, and the risk is that Zacatecas might be a ghost state by 2020. He added that Jalisco and Michoacan both suffer from the same phenomenon, though to a lesser degree. Also, that the state has 1,380,000 residents, but another 1,650,000 Zacatecans now reside in the United States.

A policeman leaves for work
Cesar Rodriguez, 41, a Ciudad Juarez policeman, left his house early this morning (Wed.) on his way to work. But he was then executed by an armed group right in front of his wife and children. Rodriguez had a clean record; he is the 52nd officer lost since the onset of Joint Operation Chihuahua.
