MISSION The police didnt find any ice cream in the van only a box full of pot.
Mission police narcotics investigators arrested Adan Toca, 34, outside the Mission Post Office, 901 N. Francisco Ave., about 3:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Toca arrived at the post office in a blue van decorated like an ice cream truck, said Mission police Sgt. Jody Tittle. Toca appeared nervous as officers approached him while he held boxes outside the post office.
When asked what was inside the boxes, Toca told investigators he didnt know, Tittle said.
Toca gave officers consent to open the boxes and search the van. Police found more than 12 pounds of marijuana in the boxes and the vehicle.
Toca did not appear to have actually sold any ice cream from the van no freezers or frozen treats were found inside but he did later tell officers he had the marijuana and had mailed an unknown quantity from the post office earlier that day.
Toca was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Mission Municipal Court on a charge of marijuana possession, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000.
If convicted, he could spend up to 10 years in prison and face a fine of up to $10,000.
“Police find no ice cream in van only pot”
That explains what happened to the ice cream.
Good Humor ping

Always good to know what they are on the lookout for. I presume they let the van go (no ear jokes please), and their palates have better luck in the next van stop.
Are you saying they were expecting to find doughnuts?
There was an ice cream man or two that sold drugs out of his ice cream truck when I was a kid in my suburban middle class neighborhood in the sixties. I do remember him specifically offering psilocybin. I turned it down for an eskimo pie.
These guys shouldn’t get their ideas from Cheech and Chong movies.
Beat me w/ the Cheech & Chong reference by 21 secs.
But you had visuals.
There’s an ice-cream truck that circulates through Rogers Park in Chicago all year round but only after about 10 or 11 PM. I’m surprised no cop has ever stopped this one for a look-see.
What took so long?
In the early 80’s there was a snow cone truck that came around where I worked. The bosses all thought that it was so popular because it was operated by a young lady wearing short shorts and halter top. The real reason was that she would add a shot of rum for an extra dollar!
I was thinking of Cheech and Chongs but you already said it first !
