Pajamas Media has received a leaked internal assessment produced by Spains Zapatero administration. The assessment confirms the key charges previously made by non-governmental Spanish experts in a damning report exposing the catastrophic economic failure of Spains green economy initiatives.
On eight separate occasions, President Barack Obama has referred to the green economy policies enacted by Spain as being the model for what he envisioned for America.

Put simply, Obama is currently promoting a policy in the U.S. which is based on a policy that he wishes to see Spain abandon. Welcome to Obamaland, the particulars of which are explained in a fashion grandly more illuminating than this Obama-Zapatero dance in Power Grab: How Obamas Green Policies Will Steal Your Freedom and Bankrupt America.

Words you never hear associated with the ‘green energy scam’ — It will cost less.
And why do you think that is?
Actually old news.
/src on/Spain did not try to implement the true version of Greenism./src off/
I heard the report begins: “Ai Carumba!”
This is what happens when Mr. Bean runs a country.
The power would have been generated if the dust didn’t dirty up the mirrors.
Anybody could have told him that. Spaniards have known since the beginning that ZP’s “green energy” policies were lunacy, and in the last few years everybody has known how much they have cost Spain, not only in paying more for energy, but in lost wages because of the industries that were destroyed.
Just what we need.
Doesn’t matter. We’ve always had all of the evidence on our side, but that doesn’t stop the Marxists from barreling on full steam ahead. Just like every major policy issue in the last 50 years or so. Then when it fails miserably, they’ll say “no one could have seen this coming”, when we were screaming it from the rooftops the whole time.

An American and Spanish version of China’s GREAT LEAP FORWARD disaster in the 1950s!
LOL! Long before there was a Barack Obama, ZP was referred to as “Bambi” because of his stupid facial expressions and his “can’t we all just get along” and “nobody hates the West, it’s a figment of our right-wing imaginations” speeches.
I always refer to Obama as Bambi, not because I think he’s a stupid, naive socialist like Zapatero, but to insult him, because Obama is a different beast altogether: he’s not innocnnt, he’s not naive, he’s stupid but he knows perfectly well what he wants (like any primitive animal), and if we shrug him off by saying he’s stupid and inarticulate, all we are doing is opening the gate for him.
Obama wants to bring us down. I’m not sure Zapatero, as much as I despise him, had this in mind. Zapatero is genuinely stupid and nobody thought he had a chance of winning until 3/11. But Obama knows exactly what he wants to do, and even if he’s stupid, he’s ruthles and aggressive and he’ll do it unless we stand up to him. Which ain’t gonna happen.
Tell it loud and proud!

Yes it is, but it backs up what we already knew.

New Report Finds Green Jobs Spending Cost Spain Hundreds of Thousands of Real Jobs, Decades in Lost Opportunity
WASHINGTON, DC As evidence continues to mount of the potential for a green jobs-focused recovery plan to raise energy prices here at home and cost American workers their real jobs in the process, a new study released this week in Spain found that for every green job created by the Spanish government over the past decade, 2.2 other jobs were killed as a result.
The report, written by Dr. Gabriel Calzada of Juan Carlos University in Madrid, comes as policy-makers in the U.S. House convene a hearing today to examine green jobs and their role in our nations economic recovery.
Institute for Energy Research (IER) president Thomas J. Pyle issued the following statement subsequent to the reports release:
President Obama has cited Spain as an example to be followed for how our country can achieve long-term growth if we just commit ourselves down a path of a massive, long-term subsidization of green jobs. But if thats really the model on which the presidents basing U.S. policy, we may be in for a longer, deeper and more severe recession than previously thought.
As this study makes clear, Spain has spent billions in taxpayer resources to subsidize renewable energy programs in an effort to jumpstart its ailing economy and what theyve gotten in return are fewer jobs, skyrocketing debt and some of the highest and most regressive energy prices in the developed world. Now, as U.S. policy-makers prepare to embark Americans upon a similar course, this report offers our first realistic glimpse into what we should expect in return for that unprecedented sacrifice of public resources and personal autonomy.
The studys results, Dr. Calzada wrote in the papers introduction, demonstrate how such green jobs policy clearly hinders Spains way out of the current economic crisis, even while U.S. politicians insist that rushing into such a scheme will ease their own emergence from the turmoil. This study marks the very first time a critical analysis of the actual performance and impact has been made.
The following represent some of the studys key findings:
The U.S. can expect 2.2 jobs to be destroyed for every 1 renewable job financed by the government.
Only 1 in 10 of the jobs actually created through green investment is permanent.
Since 2000, Spain has spent 571,138 ($753,778) to create each green job, including subsidies of more than 1 million ($1,319,783) per wind industry job.
Those programs resulted in the destruction of nearly 113,000 jobs elsewhere in the economy.
Each green megawatt installed destroyed 5.39 jobs in non-energy sectors of the Spanish economy.
The total over-costthe amount paid over the cost that would result from buying the electricity generated by the renewable power plants at market pricesbetween 2000 and 2008 amounts to 7,918.54 million Euros ($10 billion).
The total subsidy spent and committed to these three renewable sources amounts to 28,671 million ($36 billion).
Consumer energy costs in Spain would have to be increased 31 percent to repay the debt generated by the green jobs subsidies.
NOTE: According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Spains annual emissions of carbon dioxide have increased by nearly 50 percent since the nation began its aggressive push to subsidize and support green jobs.
