The Black Church's Commitment to Obama By Lloyd Marcus
Dear Black Church,
What I am about to say will probably anger you. As a black Christian, I have struggled with whether or not to address this sensitive topic. I only ask that you give my statements prayerful consideration.
Ninety-six percent of black voters, many of whom are Christians, cast their votes for Barack Obama. I question: Did your desire to see a black man in the White House trump your commitment to Christ and Christian values and principles? While I believe many white Christians also made a racist decision by voting for Obama solely because he is black, I am taking this occasion to address my fellow black Christians.
Now wait a minute. I know the hair is rising on the back of your neck. Don't go crazy on me. Please hear me out.
My family and most of my black friends are Christians striving to live lives which honor Christ. And yet, there is a huge disconnect between their Christianity and their irrational, blind, and near-idol-worship of Obama.
Will the truth about Obama make a difference? For some, I think not. For those of you who value your commitment to Christ more than your loyalty to skin color, here are a few facts.
Obama supports abortion. He also supports the vile murderous practice of partial birth abortion. So as not to offend his pro-choice supporters while an Illinois state senator, Obama voted three times against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which would protect babies who survive abortions. According to Illinois state law at that time, live aborted babies were issued birth and death certificates and left out to die in soiled utility rooms. Obama's compassionate compromise was to suggest hospitals create a "Comfort Room" for aborted babies to die in. Over 50% of black pregnancies end in abortion (Blackgenocide.org). The liberal mainstream media (CNN, MSNBC, BET, etc.) and the Democrats relentlessly promote the myth that "white conservative Republicans" are burning the midnight oil thinking of ways to suppress black America. Isn't it ironic that not a white Republican's, but our black Democrat president's abortion policy contributes greatly to black genocide?
Let's talk about gay marriage. Yep, Obama is sympathetic to it. Obama opposed the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman. Obama said he would support civil unions between gay and lesbian couples. He also supports individual states deciding if marriage between gay and lesbian couples should be legalized.
I would also like to tackle the whole "entitlement" thing -- folks believing they have a right to reap the benefits of someone else's labor. Obama is diligently fulfilling his promise to Joe the Plumber to "spread the wealth around." The Bible says that if a man does not work, he should not eat (II Thessalonians 3:6-12).
Yes, the Bible does highly regard giving/charity. But it does not support government confiscating wealth for redistribution in the name of "social justice." That is not what Jesus would do. As a matter of fact, Jesus said, "The poor you will have with you always." Why? Because it is impossible to regulate outcomes in life. Obama skillfully plays the class envy card, getting those who have less to hate those who have more. Then they will gleefully support him brutally taxing the rich SOBs. Obama is exploiting the human tendency to sinfully covet the possessions of others.
Obama also shamelessly plays the race card to get his way -- not directly out of his mouth, but through his minions. The liberal mainstream media and the Democrats are promoting the lie that the millions of whites who voted for Obama and have since become tea-partiers because they reject his big government agenda are suddenly racist. This is an evil and divisive control tactic.
And here is a major kick in the face to Christians. During his presidential campaign, Obama told the world America is not a Christian nation. Now, as president, Obama canceled the 21st annual "National Day of Prayer" ceremony at the White House, which was started by President Truman in 1952. Obama stated his reason as "not wanting to offend anyone."
Now here's the kicker. A National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion was held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House, September 25, 2009. As many as 50,000 Muslims attended.
So apparently, Team Obama has no problem offending Christians, but he is extremely sensitive to and even honors Muslims.
My fellow black Christians, these are only a few easy-to-research examples of Obama/Democrat agenda policies which do not line up with Christianity. For those of you who cannot handle the truth, I will keep you in my prayers. It is not my place to judge you. I am simply the messenger. But then, we all know what traditionally happens to messengers. God bless.

dear Black christians. Obama IS muslim. he left that out.
Was he promoting him before? I heard some pastor in Atlanta - on TV - singing praises about BO. .
Obama is a "Black Liberation" communist. He hasn't a religious bone in his body. Black Liberation Theology is a bogus religion set up by communists to advance a revolutionary communist agenda. Farrakhan's so-called "Nation of Islam" is another Black Liberation Theology revolutionary communist front.
A great thread, but it should be read by white Christians as well, or maybe even more so.
The white churches has had much longer to teach people the truth, but it seems they are losing it.
There are so many false teachers in the white churches that are teaching socialism and every thing else except what the Bible says, that i am not even interested in going to church any more even though i know that there are a few good ones left.
People will holler religion, religion, when it is not religion that we need but the truth of Gods word.
God bless and hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Thanksgiving and prayers for you, Lloyd Marcus.
Saying the truth and writing it takes a lot of love and even more courage.
Prayers for eyes, ears, and minds, to be opened and hearts to be turned before it’s too late.
God bless.
He voted for him.....
And I don't know about the church purchase either.....
I do know that Jakes voted for Barack Hussein Obama though.....
Okay Im not one to preach but remineded of “Love not the world”... Holding an evil half-black man above Jesus teachings is a cop-out on their Christianity and we were told the “love of many would wax cold”. Its putting Gods kingdom behind a racisal issue. sad.
Isn’t it just great how these democrats are using God’s will like they really know anything about God.. The only reason Obama got into the white house is because good people believed him, and they should not have, that is good white and black..I did not vote for the Muslim I knew what he was..
And I know people who voted for Carter thinking he was a genuine Christian. There are Repubs out there who will tell you, Carter was the only Dem they had ever voted for. And for some people, Carter is the reason they became Repubs, so it all works out sometimes.
And I know white Christian Repubs who were impressed with Obama early on because he seemed to be so outspoken about his faith. Thank goodness the Reverend Wright episode cleared that up for most of them, but not all of them I have to say. I have a boss who is religious, and switched from Repub to Dem, so impressed was he after reading O's biography.
So, it isn't just black Christians with this problem.
I've told this before. I was talking to a black pastor who started bad-mouthing Condoleeza Rice to me. I smiled, put up my hand and said, man, you're talking to the wrong guy. I'm in love with that lady, I said, she is one of the most intelligent and capable people we've got in government and I admire her a great deal.
He immediately started sputtering and back-tracking. He lives in an echo-chamber, and I think it never occurred to him that everyone didn't hate her.
Sometimes the best answer is to smile and stand up for what you believe, and open up the echo chamber.

“The thing also that bothers me is the minister told me this was God’s will, if it wasn’t Obama would never be in the white house”
This is true. God also put Pharoah on the throne. And Hitler.
Doesn’t mean they are good leaders.
I went to a black church in east Austin a few months back and nothing about Christ was even mentioned.
It was nothing but a social gospel which isn't the gospel at all. I was extremely disappointed in what I heard in-between those walls.
Their stomachs are more important than their kids or the Creator of the universe. Sorry to say.
So much for post-racial, it’s tearing our Church apart.
OH! And then that includes his church. The other minister was Eddie Long in Atlanta. They know nothing of God’s Word - use Scripture to preach but do not live it. Only when one lives it do they know it.
Very well said. Don’t get discouraged; if even one person opens his or her eyes you have succeeded.
God Bless!
