The general is getting more specific.
For more than a year, President Barack Obama set a broad, ambitious legislative agenda, and, for the most part, allowed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to let Congress to “work its will,” as Pelosi likes to say.
Those days are fast coming to an end. After watching congressional Hill Democrats squander months — and perhaps their majorities — on health reform and a grab-bag stimulus package, the White House is taking a more hands-on approach with its highest priority bills before this fall’s midterm elections.
“The clock is running out, and they realize they need to provide a much more specific idea of what they want,” a senior Senate Democratic aide said.
“We like it. We can use the sense of direction.”
Ross Baker, a Rutgers University political science professor who studies the Hill-White House relationship, says: “It is a reaction to some of the criticism that he floats above the battle a little too athletically. ... He really needs to be much more involved in the cut and thrust of legislation.”
In the past week, Obama has gone from descriptive to prescriptive on two front-burner bills, intervening forcefully on the Gulf oil spill and the regulatory crackdown on Wall Street, hoping to blunt anger at the financial and auto industry bailouts.
Both issues are important for Democrats in the midterms

Preposterous, this is the creation of a fantasist. Obama is the great flake, surrounded by other democratic flakes. The idea that he is now going to bring order to the three ring circus, in which he occupies the center ring, is comical.

Obamamajamba does not need to rein in the willing. The dumbocrat leftists have been his compliant spineless lapdogs since day one. So much for thier pledge to uphold the Constitution -so much for checks and balances -so much for law -so much for due process and transparency -these cult of personality Washington clowns prostrate themselves at dear leaders feet; salivating like Pavlovian dogs waiting for dear leaders next bell ringing call to deem new important 'legislation' that is far from legislative and closer to back room dealings and special interest cronyism -"legislation" that must be passed quickly or else -no reading no debate -just salivate on cue...
It is high time that Congress grows a pair and tells boy wonder to go pump sand...
