On Thursdays The View on ABC, during a discussion of Laura Bushs recent revelation that she disagrees with her husband on the issues of abortion and same-sex marriage, normally right-leaning co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck voiced agreement with the former First Lady, but also used a surprising choice of words as she recommended that conservatives talk to gay couples about the issue rather than "hating" about it. Hasselbeck:
I think there are a lot of, maybe, conservatives out there who are talking about gay marriage and not necessarily with someone who wants to have gay marriage or has been in a gay marriage. You know, I had Melissa Etheridge over, we had dinner, we talked for hours about gay marriage, and I would really challenge people: Get out there. Instead of just talking about it and hating on it, actually talk to someone whos loved someone else and have the conversation about what can be done...

The fact that this woman is peddled as the token "Conservative", is ludicrous.
I don’t “hate” on it - because there’s no such thing.
Once again, what the hell does Happy Marriage have to do with SODOMY???
Maybr she’s trying to get on the good side of Whoopi?
actually talk to someone whos loved someone else
So I take it only gay people “have loved someone else”?
In all seriousness, some of you are not paying attention.
When adult/child marriage gets pushed in this country will she be telling us not to hate that, too? How about human/animal marriage? How about human/pillow marriage?
When there are attempts to outlaw marriage or regulate it out of existence will she get a case of Athlete’s Mouth, too? What a freakin’ moron!
I hope the ratings for that show just plunge off the cliff!
exactly.
Take the word ‘marriage’ out of the equation. The solution is out there but the agenda rages on.
Whoopi has a good side? From what I’ve seen, she’s fugly from any angle...and there’s so much more of her lately.
Okay, Mrs. Hasselbeck, I will change my views on gay marriage.....
......as soon as you show me in the BIBLE when GOD does!!
Vapid.
I have a solution for gay marriage. The federal government needs to get out of the marriage business all together. Married people do not deserve tax cuts for being married. Married people do not deserve tax cuts for having children. The federal government needs to quit social engineering. A married couple making my salary get to keep $4000 dollars more of their paycheck each year. A married couple with a kid gets to keep $1500 dollars more of their salary each year. I get screwed by having to pay $5500 more dollars each year because of “social engineering.”
Get the federal government out of marriage all together.
Laura Bush & Elisabeth Hasselbeck are simple minded twitsshalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
who have rejected the saving grace of the creator of the universe.
I hated that show the day I first saw it. I always believed it was a chic brainwashing tool for modern day feminism. Why else call it “The View?”
To me, Hasselbeck is a better looking, younger Peggy Noonan.
I understand - But isn’t Baba WaWa living with Whoopi’s old boyfriend? I think Whoopi is trying to be the boss while Baba has her surgery. Whoopi is all about some gay marriage... She’s been on my boycott list for a long time.
Oh shut up!
Empty headed women like Hasselbeck have no business even being heard on national TV. It's a sad state of affairs in this country, when national television has pinheads like like Hasselbeck, Joy Baher and Whoopi Goldberg, being given free reign to polute the air we breathe, with their inane nattering.
Gay ‘marriage’ - So is it legal for a gay man to marry his brother or close relative?
This is actually HILARIOUS...does everyone here know that Melissa Etheridge and her “wife” are getting “divorced?”
Only dumber. Noonan is a tremendous pain in the ass, but at least she can turn a phrase or two. Hasselbeck is practically illiterate.
