U.S. House candidate Chris Nelson earlier this week dismissed birther statements attributed to him and said he believes Barack Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen and the legitimately elected president of the United States.
So does Eleanor Nordyke and according to her, she should know.
Nordyke, 82, of Honolulu, Hawaii, says that on Aug. 4, 1961, she was in labor with her twin daughters Susan and Gretchen at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital the same place Barack Obama was being born. The hospital has since been renamed Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.
Birthers is the term given to those who believe Obama was not born in the United States and does not, therefore, meet a primary qualification for the presidency.
Nordyke, in a Friday telephone interview with The Daily Republic, said the birthers have consistently discounted her testimony. She is certain they are wrong.

Who would have thunk this about the usurper’s family???

I don't remember anyone that was in the hospital giving birth at the same time I did, not even the woman that was in the room with me.
My recollection is she had no idea until it was reported where and when Obama was born. What is it she feels anyone is disputing about her story? I believe she had twins in the hospital that Obama was reportedly born.
There were several births in the hospital when my children were born but I only met the one in my room in the bed next to me that I would swear in court she had a baby.
Interesting article below. Nordyke is basing everything on the story Obama wants everyone to believe. Or she has been threatened by the thugs.

"The middle figure in Obama's purported registration also is different than the Nordykes'. Obama's is 1961, indicating the year, while the Nordykes' is merely 61."
"One explanation for the out-of-order serial numbers might be that several serialized stacks of birth certificates were made available at different hospitals."
"Another possibility is that Obama's number is not a genuine registration number created in 1961 but was issued when the short-form document was generated during the 2008 presidential campaign."
"Eleanor Nordyke told WND she thinks her twins got lower numbers because she went into the hospital Aug. 4, 1961, and was in labor for 20 hours before she delivered. She speculates that Ann Dunham came in after her and was given a later number, even though Dunham's baby was born earlier. Nordyke's twins were not born until the afternoon of the next day."
The Communist East West center? Good grief! Small little Obama commie world.
They both gave birth during the era of the “Twilight Sleep.”
I doubt she remembers much of her labor.
You’re wrong about that... It is NOT enough to be a “natural born citizen” simply to be born here in the US.
Even if Obama were born in Hawaii, it doesn’t matter... Heck, he could have been birthed in the White House itself, and it wouldn’t matter even a teensy little bit. The FACT is that Obama was born a subject of the United Kingdom. At the least that gives him DUAL citizenship. A DUAL citizen by BIRTH is NOT a “natural born citizen”. Unless Obama were over 200 years old and fell under the exception our Founding Fathers wrote for themselves there is no way he is Constitutionally Qualified to hold the office of President of the United States.
And even the “Dual Citizenship” status is in doubt. The laws in place at the time in Hawaii did NOT give Stanley Ann the legal ability to confer citizenship on her son, even if he was born in Hawaii. The only thing we know FOR SURE, as admitted by Obama and his campaign staff, and others working with him on this issue is that Obama was born with British Citizenship. Thus, again, making him NOT a Natural Born US Citizen.
Well, the author clearly doesn’t even understand the issue, or what the majority of self-described “birthers” would declare as their main issue.
Until the media realizes that the actual place of birth matters not one whit, we will forever be vilified...
Not true. That's a birther claim, but it's unsupported in the law and is contradictory to the common law tradition.
What citizenship another country grants has no bearing on the citizenship status of anyone born in the US. That would be giving other countries the power to determine who can be president. Nothing in US law recognizes such power.
If you are born in the US you are a natural born citizen, because you have citizenship through that "natural" means of birth, instead of by the process of naturalization.
A "natural born" citizen is someone born in the US, of American parents.
“It would prevent fraud AND would save the physician from having to come back later to sign several certificates in one batch while comparing delivery notes to information on the birth certificate.”
On all the Hawaiian long form BC’s I have seen posted, MD signature is dated one or more days after the birth date. This doesn’t prove that your explanation is incorrect, but if indeed the BC were available in the delivery room, why NOT save the MD a later trip and possibility of error by having the delivery physician sign the BC on the spot?
“If you are born in the US you are a natural born citizen”
You’re still wrong. It is NOT enough to simply be born here, especially back in 1961.
BHO Senior died in a car wreck, IIRC a single vehicle one, in 1982. (He liked to take a nip, now and again, and again, and again.)
I think butter's concerns are valid. But she should get the name to Lt. Col. Lakins' attorneys, right quick. They *may* end up in a position to get a court order, a military court order.
Yea, but I bet her name wasn't Stanley, nor did she have an inter-racial baby. No man of a different race than she probably came to see her either. (Actually in Hawaii an inter-racial baby would be no big deal, even in '61, if it was a white father and a brown mother. But a (very) black father (who admittedly probably never visited her and BO in the hospital anyway) and a (very) white woman (named Stanley), would be highly unusual, and people remember the unusual.
I’ve never gotten any kind of response from the Lakin folks, so I don’t know if they think my information is worth anything or not. Would they be more likely to hear it and consider it credible if it came from somebody like you, or maybe BP2?
I think I’ll private message BP2 since I think he has access to the people on the case. Let me know if you think there’s something else I could do as well.
If you are born abroad of citizen parents, you are a citizen at birth, but you are still naturalized. So are people who were living in places like Texas, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, etc, when the US acquired them and Congress granted the inhabitants citizenship "en mass". (Except for thoes who were already US citizens)
Not me, I have not contacts, but maybe BP2. Just to get you in contact, your research will have to stand or fall on its own.
Yes, but mothers and babies also stayed in the hospital much longer in those days.
Bull pucky. Who in the name of all that’s holy is going to remember that kind of information? Her statements do not pass the smell test to me.
