U.S. House candidate Chris Nelson earlier this week dismissed birther statements attributed to him and said he believes Barack Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen and the legitimately elected president of the United States.
So does Eleanor Nordyke and according to her, she should know.
Nordyke, 82, of Honolulu, Hawaii, says that on Aug. 4, 1961, she was in labor with her twin daughters Susan and Gretchen at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital the same place Barack Obama was being born. The hospital has since been renamed Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.
Birthers is the term given to those who believe Obama was not born in the United States and does not, therefore, meet a primary qualification for the presidency.
Nordyke, in a Friday telephone interview with The Daily Republic, said the birthers have consistently discounted her testimony. She is certain they are wrong.

Wow.
Journalists will be getting right on that any day, I'm sure.

For some reason, I can't get the article at the link. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
My kid believes in the tooth fairy and if the tooth fairy's parents weren't born in the US, then she can't be the president either.
So does Eleanor Nordyke and according to her, she should know.
How since "Nordyke said, though she never met Obamas mother... she doesnt know who Obamas mothers doctor was"?
Obama was born in Kenya, she said, is just a myth. Its not true at all.
Again, where's the proof?
She said the leaders of the birther movement are using the false claims to reap financial gain.
We have leaders? Names! I want names!
My daughters birth certificates were 10637 and 10638, and Obamas was 10641, so his mother must have come in after I did
HUH??? How the heck would the hospital assign a b/c number before the birth not to mention the numbers weren't stamped on said b/c until the info had reached the health department and the health department stamps it?
This is so obviously scripted and poorly scripted at that. The racial comment was also scripted because race has nothing to do with NBC but the low IQ koolaid bunch will lap it up just like they've lapped up the newspaper notices. Real or faked, those notices do not name the child nor do they state where this un-named child was born or if his parents were US citizens. IOW, the newspaper means zilch, nada, nothing. And as for her remembering a tiny little dozen word notice 50 years ago when she had newborn twins to take care of, well, I'm calling that more scripted horse hockey.
You caught that, too, huh.
Last night the article would come up for anyone. I guess now you have to register.
There is no new information from Mrs. Nordyke. There are quotes from her throughout the thread.
The article is full of stuff and nonsense. How come no nurses, doctors or aides have come forth?
They had some good stuff, man, on that island. She must have had a contact within the Choom Gang.
Here is some more of the article:
Nordyke, in a Friday telephone interview with The Daily Republic, said the birthers have consistently discounted her testimony. She is certain they are wrong.
A birther claim that Obama was born in Kenya, she said, is just a myth. Its not true at all.
Nordyke, a longtime friend and Stanford University classmate of Mitchell resident Kathryn Crockett, said the birther issue has been a broil in Hawaii for the past two years. Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle on Thursday signed legislation designed to limit requests for Obamas birth documents. That move has only outraged birthers.
Hawaii officials have repeatedly confirmed Obamas citizenship, saying they have seen his birth certificate.
Hawaii law prevents the release of full long form birth information to anyone but family members, Nordyke said, so for the birthers to keep clamoring for it is ridiculous. She said the leaders of the birther movement are using the false claims to reap financial gain.
Nordyke said Obamas birth notices appeared in the Aug. 13, 1961, Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
She recalls that Obamas birth notice was published several days before her daughters notice, even though Obamas mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, was admitted to Kapiolani Hospital after Nordyke entered the hospital. Obama was born on a Friday, and the Nordyke twins were born on a Saturday, she said.
Nordykes late husband, Dr. Robert Nordyke, was an internal medicine specialist at Honolulus Straub Clinic.
My daughters birth certificates were 10637 and 10638, and Obamas was 10641, so his mother must have come in after I did, Nordyke said, though she never met Obamas mother.
Nordkye said she doesnt know who Obamas mothers doctor was, but only five obstetricians were at the hospital at the time, she said. Birthers have complained that the name of the attending physician is being hidden.
For about six years, Nordykes daughters attended school with Obama at the Punahou School, a school of about 4,000 geared for the college-bound, which Nordyke called the best school in Hawaii.
No. The three kids were classmates in Kindergarten at Noelani Elementary School in 1967. Then he moved to Indonesia. He supposedly came back in about 71 or 72 to attend the Punahou school where all three kids were enrolled.
Mrs. Nordyke is either lying or misinformed about Obama being born at Kapiolani, but I don’t think she ever claimed to be an eyewitness of either Ann or Obama at the hospital when she was there.
If Obama had been born at Kapiolani his “date filed” would be Aug 11th, just like the Nordyke twins’ were, since Kapiolani delivered their birth certificates to the state registrar’s office on Friday and Obama was born Friday evening after office hours. So his BC would have been delivered with the next week’s batch, which would have included the Nordykes’ since they were born the next day.
Also if Obama had been born at Kapiolani he would not have needed to forge a COLB, as the HDOH has confirmed that Obama’s Fight the Smears and FActcheck COLB’s are. Documentation for that is at http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/red-flags-in-hawaii-2/
For those of you who have followed my blog, I have a new post up, regarding the OIP’s shenanigans.
It’s a really busy weekend for me but I’m hoping to put up another post on Monday regarding another potentially illegal action by the HDOH. If what they say is true, they have violated the comptroller’s orders in the retention schedule and destroyed records required to be permanent. I might wait until Tuesday, to give them time to respond to a request which is due by the time their office closes on Monday.
Bad, bad stuff going on in Hawaii right now.
It’s working for me.
My daughters birth certificates were 10637 and 10638, and Obamas was 10641, so his mother must have come in after I did,
I would have thought that the order of the births would have determined the numbering on the birth certificates. Basing the numbers on the order in which the mothers entered the hospital doesn't make any sense at all.
Must have??? She doesnt know for sure.
*******
I believe that Obama is a fraud and a liar until he allows Hawaii officials to release his long form birth certificate with the doctor and hospital names on it.
That being said, I agree with Mrs. Nordyke's logic.
That is, I believe that if a baby is born in a hospital a day before another baby is born, then we would expect the earlier baby to receive a LOWER number than the second baby. The problem is this with Obama: Obama received a HIGHER number even though he supposedly was born BEFORE the Nordyke's twins.
Again, I am just following Mrs. Nordyke's own logic.
My daughters birth certificates were 10637 and 10638, and Obamas was 10641, so his mother must have come in after I did,
1. NOTE: I think that the numbers were assigned by Hawaii officials AFTER the birth certificates arrived at Vital Statistics, not by the hospital staff.
2. Sequence of numbers, problem for Obama: The problem is that Obama was born on Aug. 4 while the Nordyke twins were born on Aug. 5.
3. Does it seem odd to others like it seems odd to me that it seems that these were the only births in that hospital at that time? I mean there had to be more people who were born in that hospital around the same time but are too scared to come forward and tell us. Why don't we hear from more people who were born at that time? Come out people and tell us your story about being born in that hospital the weekend of Aug 4-5, 1961.
4. So simply following Mrs. Nordyke's logic,as I see it, Obama should have received a LOWER number, because he was born a day BEFORE the Nordyke twins.
5. But Obama received a HIGHER number. Why was that?
6. I say the explanation is simple: Obama was not born at Kapiolani Hospital as he claims.
Well intentioned Mrs. Nordyke? I don’t think so, she’s coached by the 0-team, reading a script.
She and her quoted daughter are slobbering groupies.
Mrs. Nordyke worked at the East West Center; ‘nuff said.
Didn’t see a thing where she states that she ‘saw’ Obama as a baby in the hospital or even met Stanley Ann there. She actually affirms she NEVER saw them as she stated ‘the mother must have come in after I did.’
She also affirms that the birth certificate numbers are out of sequence, because if Obama was born on ‘Friday’ and her daughters ‘on Saturday as she stated’ - then his number should have preceeded her daughter’s numbers AND SHE STATES THE EXACT OPPOSITE.
If anything this interview supports the birthers position and Nordyke is coming off as a liberal twit.
Quite likely...
Persevero, what an inconsiderate family. Sorry your blessed event was disrupted in this manor. It’s unforgivable that the nurses didn’t step in and call security if they had to.
That makes a lot sense if the charge nurse provided a blank birth certificate to the birthing staff in each delivery room.
That way the delivery staff can record the time of birth, etc. on the certificate and the physician can sign it after delivery. It would prevent fraud AND would save the physician from having to come back later to sign several certificates in one batch while comparing delivery notes to information on the birth certificate.
Exactly right.
One of the first acts he did as President was to issue an executive order sealing all of his records.
You know that isn’t correct and you’ve been told before. He issued an EO revising the Bush EO which revised the Reagan EO regarding Presidential records. The Presidential Records Act governs the NARA and how they handle presidential records which aren’t the same as personal records.
