WASHINGTON (JTA) -- If you tell the rabbis, they will spread the word.
That was the thinking behind two intimate White House meetings -- the second of which took place on Thursday -- with a carefully selected slate of 15 rabbis from across the country and representing the Orthodox, Reform and Conservative streams.
Jack Moline, a Conservative rabbi at Congregation Agudas Achim in Alexandria, Va., initiated the meetings after a talk he had with his friend Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, about the Obama administration's perceived deficit of friendliness toward Israel.
The two meetings, the first of which was held last month, were part of a charm offensive after relations between the Obama and Netanyahu governments hit a low in early March, when Israel announced a major building start in eastern Jerusalem during a visit to Israel by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. The Obama administration wants Israel to freeze settlement in the West Bank and building in the eastern part of Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967 Six-Day War and subsequently annexed.

"after a talk he had with his friend Rahm Emanuel" The good Rabbi can't be that conservative. Emanuel doesn't have conservative friends, only conservative enemies.

There has to be a blockbuster movie in the tawdry story of, Barry and the Jews.

Maybe he could resign to "assuage the concerns" of some of us here at FR? (I really don't think meeting friends of Rahm Emanuel is going to do it.)

Not all Jews are smart. :(

The good Rabbi can't be that conservative. In this context Conservative only refers to the level of religious observance. It has nothing to do with political conservatism. Sadly, most American Jews have and will continue to drink the Obama Kool-Aid.

I’d like to know who the “orthodox” rabbis were.

PERCEIVED??? Well, Rabbi Moline, you're a kook if you believe Hussein and his puppetmaster RAHM give a damn about your concerns. They'll talk a REAL good talk (see: Campaign 2008), but when it comes time to PERFORM, they're miserable failures.
Now, if you go to Hussein and ask him to clamp down on Americans' first amendment rights, or "certain bloggers" and "talk radio", he'll be more than glad to accomodate.
Hussein, by his actions, proves that the only Jew he likes is one who will roll over and obey him. Bibi is not such a Jew--and I am grateful every day to the Creator for that fact.

Id like to know who the orthodox rabbis were. Perhaps Modern Orthodox like Rahm's Rabbi: Rabbi Asher Lopatin

about the Obama administration's perceived deficit of friendliness toward Israel??
I see the JTA's reporters are in the same league as our American media--wholly, clueless!
There AIN'T nuttin "perceived" about the FASCIST Community Agitator's HATRED of Israel and his anti-Jewish, pro-Islam, agenda.
When Dear Leader makes the next (which will also be the FIRST) demand on the Islamo-Fascist Moozies or insists they make ANY concession (as he has continually done with Israel) I MIGHT reconsider my opinion.

Jack Moline, a Conservative rabbi at Congregation Agudas Achim in Alexandria, Va., initiated the meetings after a talk he had with his friend Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff ...
Was Rahm Emanuel wearing clothes at the time and did Rahm jam his finger into the chest of Rabbi Achim during these "talks" ?
As an aside ...
I recall the article about Rahm Emanuel on Free Republic that said;
QUOTE They point out that to our sorrow during the last year, President Barak Obamas tenure in the White House, You have worked against the State of Israel and the Jewish People. They remind Emanuel of his recent comment to Israels consul general to Los Angeles, in which he is quoted as saying I have had it with the Israelis. You are not the first Jew in history trying to advance himself at the expense of his people. There were traitors before you such as Josephus Flavius and others, who in all likelihood also celebrated their bar mitzvah but we remember them as traitors, seeking riches and honor, at the expense of their people." UNQUOTE
Rahm Emanuel receives public condemnation and is publicly branded as a traitor to Israel (and America for that matter). And then Rahm Emanuel and the White House claim to have a Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along" moment with "Conservative Rabbis" ?
Interesting ... very interesting indeed.
