FLAUNT THE AMERICAN FLAG DAY--Nationwide Protest Wednesday, May 12, 2010
Sunday, May 9, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 05/09/2010 3:21:46 PM PDT by kristinn

I am posting this announcement with Jim Thompson's blessing and support.

Patriotic Americans all across the nation are being called on to 'flaunt the American flag' on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 by wearing patriotic-themed clothing such as American flag style shirts, blouses, ties or jackets; American flag lapel pins or brooches; and by displaying the American flag at home, on your car or at your desk at work. You can even carry an American flag with you as you make your rounds on Wednesday and really flaunt that flag!

This is being done as a show of support for the American families in Morgan Hill, California whose students attending Live Oak High School were ordered to remove their American flag style shirts so as to not offend Mexican students on Cinco de Mayo last week.

Offended Mexican students walked out of class the next day and staged a protest march demanding "respect" for "our holiday" by demanding Americans not display the American flag on American soil.

One protester, Luis Jimenez, was videotaped by KNTV-TV saying, "Yesterday, it was our holiday, Cinco de Mayo. All of, like, the Americans thought they could wear their flags and just flaunt them in front of us."

Another Mexican protester was videotaped by KRON-TV ripping an American flag out of the hands of an American that same day.

In response, please send this message: We Americans will flaunt our flag on our soil anytime we please. If some folks don't like that, we have an old saying for them, "America, love it or leave it!"

Please e-mail and post this call to action on blogs, Facebook, Twitter and send it to you local and national Tea Party groups and talk radio hosts.

(Note to all the race-baiting liberals and weak-kneed David Brooks types, this is not about race, or even about Mexico. This is about Americans standing up for America on American soil. If you can't handle displays of patriotism, the same message above applies to you too.)

If anyone asks who started this and why May 12, just say it was started by a TEA-ed off American and May 12 just seems like a good day to wear the red, white and blue.

"FreeRepublic.com Lands In Olbermann's Worst Persons" where Olby trashes FR as a 'racist' website, and the 'owner' of FR--Jim Thompson, more than once, LOL. Some research department he has there! ;-)

I never understood how ‘anchor babies’ are legal-I thought the Constitution stated that BOTH PARENTS must be in the U.S. LEGALLY when the child is born, and that gives the baby U.S. citizenship, not just any kid born here gets all the rights of an American citizen whether or not the parents are legally here. Has this ever been challenged legally?

We are near a park here, and the wind gets vicious sometimes, I’ve had to replace my flags out front about 10-12 times since we moved here in 2004. I send them to a teacher at my daughter’s elementary school who works with the Boy Scouts. They do a ceremony and destroy the damaged flags properly.

That is a good question, I don’t know if the issue has been to court- I assume lower courts but don’t know if it has really been challenged. In practice anyone that can show they are born here is considered a citizen and accepted as such. I do not agree with that and never have, but that is how it is being done. I was told that even being born here the child has to live here 3 years- don’t know if that is really part of immigration law but if it is- definately being ignored. As of now, being born here is all it takes to be eligible for anything and everything any other citizen can receive- even if the child is raised in Mexico. In the real world we are handing out citizenship like candy- whether it is legal or not and that is why so many do not appreciate what it means to be a citizen here- other than a boat load of goodies.

I put the window flags on the car to add to the troop support and flag magnets. I put the big flag up on the pillar in the front and another 3/5 over the front glass door. I had the 2 stars and stripes chairs set up in front of the garage door and another flag on the mailbox.

I dressed in one of my favorite shirts white shorts so the USA socks would show and red/white/and blue sneakers.

I saw no other flags in the neighborhood or on any cars on the road. Not one person had on a patriotic T-shirt in the 4 stores I entered.

I was so disappointed! Well I did my thing!

Me niether. Wore my flag pin. Put one on my mom. Didn’t see anyone else. Then again this was a deeply old Democrat area I was in. I doubt they even knew about Flaunt the Flag Day.

If I ever meet Olbermann in person he may well find that I am one of the worst persons. I abhor his continual spewing of hatred.

That’s great. I just found a method in a magazine that will keep mine from hitting the bricks on the house. It said to put a grommet on the bottom tip and run a string from it to a lanyard back to the house.

I found this website online, supposedly USA clothes are made here--you can make your own designs easily, I just joined and made this one in about 10 minutes (they provide graphics or you can use your own), just type in the text, font, size, color, etc.:

Let me rephrase that: If you order within the US, the items are made in the US. If you order from Canada, the items are made in Canada, and so forth, if I understand the website correctly.

Hey, I wonder if JimRob and JohnRob might consider having FR t-shirts for donating members? Or even as a fundraiser for FR? Hmm, might be something to think about. A million designs come to my mind immediately. :-)

Love those shirts...I like the dates, but find them harder to wear after the events!

I have quite a collection!

From what I’ve been reading online, there may be more “Flaunt the Flag” days, I’ve heard the date September 16th bandied about (that’s “deis y seis de Septiembre”, Mexico’s Independence Day, their big holiday).

The website is neat because you can put whatever text you want on the t-shirts, etc. So you don’t have to put a specific date, you could just put the title and wear the shirt multiple times. :-)

I do not choose to do it as a direct confrontation on another holiday. It would begin a constant challenge.

We have Flag Day, Armed Forces Day, 4th of July and even Labor Day. There seem to be lots of choices.

Do we want to also start a feud over St.Patricks Day?
