If the U.S. military accepts these good people into their ranks their families should be allowed to stay.
US Army officer marries illegal alien without telling the Army. What is wrong with that picture?
No excuse for either of them...this was not accidental..
He was here legally...He knew how the immigration system worked..
Five years ago she jumped the cruise ship she was working on and deliberately overstayed her visa...she knew how the visa system worked...
They have spent $7000 on legal fees...They could have flown back to the Phillipines and got married there and then applied for her to come here...she would have been here legally years ago...
But NOOOOOOOOOO they knew better than the US immigration laws...
No sympathy here...

Naturalized American Citizen
Just like with the public debate on Obamacare, the various news media will start the barrage of sob stories on illegal aliens.
Having two sons in the military, I can say they were diligently screened by having to produce SS cards and birth certificates to enlist. There should be a LEGAL process by which foreign nationals can attain resident status by enlisting and successfully serving, but we need to be careful with screening, especially with Muslims. Yes, profiling.
Whatcha think about this ???
Bring a hanky...
I think this is all BS. A Philippine-born naturalized American citizen U.S. Army lieutenant married an overstaying Filipina tourist they now got three years old daughter. The U.S. Army husband feared deportation of his wife after exhausting all effort to legalize her immigration status. What’s the big deal? Didn’t the Pakistani terrorist who married a U.S. citizen got his naturalization after three years? U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement don’t even make effort to go catch the illegals begging for piecemeal job at HomeDepot’s because the media will categorize it as racism. As far as I know the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement don’t threaten to deport someone with lawyer-retainer while aready proving intention to legalize his/her immigration status in the United States.
Ping!
I am about as hard core about illegals as anyone I know- I do think when citizens of other countries are allowed into our military their immediate family should be given some sort of legal way to be here and access their military benefits such as housing, medical, etc. Reporting is so bad though it may be there is a legal way for this to happen- seems this military man did not report his marriage and tried to just get by with something.
There is procedure and law. It needs to be followed by everyone. The only easy ride is if you serve yourself and don’t give me the spouse serves also. I was in submarines. No wife ever spend 5 months at sea at greater than four hundred feet.
