Nothing About Times Square Bombing Suspect Ever Seemed To Make Him Stand Out At Home, Or In Pakistan

NEW YORK (CBS) - Faisal Shahzad lived much of the last 12 years in and around Bridgeport, Conn. He finished college, got married, started a family, and held down a job. It was a seemingly normal life, until it suddenly wasn't.
At the University of Bridgeport, he was an unremarkable student. At his former job in Norwalk, he was an unremarkable employee. And at his one time home in Shelton, neighbor Mary Ann Galich considered Shahzad and family an unremarkable presence on Long Hill Avenue.
"They were out having picnics on the back porch," she recalled. "Very normal."
And yet, the feds said Shahzad admits doing something remarkably dangerous and potentially deadly after parking an explosives-laden SUV near the heart of Times Square.
Shahzad returned to the U.S. in February.
After spending several months visiting his native Pakistan in the village of Mohib Banda, people who knew Shahzad call him ordinary and – unremarkable.
Mongi Dhaouadi a leader in the Connecticut Muslim community and member of the Committee on American-Islamic Relations, wondered if months in Pakistan somehow radicalized Shahzad.
"Like all the American people we are still trying to make sense out of this. How can a gentleman who seems to have a regular life, yet he thought about doing something like this?" he asked.
When Shahzad returned to Bridgeport, he rented an apartment on Sheridan Street. His landlord rushed past reported without comment Wednesday.

I'll admit, my theory is way out there, but who knows?
He spent several months in Pakistan, time in Waziristan, and has family in N.W. Frontier. My money says something happened during that time that turned him radical, an incident or relative’s influence or the like. Plus, he reportedly had a bad case of Bush Derangement Syndrome (thank you Democrats and MSM), which would have made him receptive.
They could look up “Deep Cover Agent” in an encyclopedia, I imagine.
Well, that makes me feel all better.
Heard one report on ABC radio, I think it was during Rush’s show, that Shahzad was on a watch list since 1999 because he had brought tens of thousands of dollars into the country that year. So what is the truth here?

I heard on Rush today that some entertainment program found personal papers of this guy outside his old home. Among those discovered were his college transcripts, and his original visa from when he first came here. Rush read off the grades Shahzad had received, and the first thing that came to mind was that we've got more info on this guy than we do on Obama. On top of that, he probably got better grades than Hussein.

If that's the case, then we've got them "all over the place" in America, just waiting for the right time to "come out" and do a "mission" ... :-)
I mean, this guy was a student at 19, came over here from some prominent family in Pakistan (obviously they must have had money...), and he was here legally on a Student Visa, did things the way he was supposed to, and graduated, got a job, got married (to a U.S. citizen), had two kids, bought a house (and during that time, also apparently brought over about $80,000 of money to this country; probably for school bills, as he had to pay part of them himself, and probably partly for the down payment on the house, as he had to have one to buy the house) -- and so -- just from those details -- he would sound like "a great success story" of someone coming over from another country and assimilating and making a success of himself.
BUT, apparently some things went wrong, he lost his job, he ended up losing the house and he took his family over to Pakistan -- and when he came back -- he did the bombing...
If you look at it before he went over there, and before things started "going south" for him -- he was quite a "success story" -- even a "picture-book story" for someone "making it good" here.
But, after he came back... that story changed.
So, if this is a "deep undercover agent" -- then we've got them all over the place... :-) ... just look at all the others who are apparently "successful" and there are no problems and they are apparently "integrated" and are "Americans" ... and then you'll really start wondering about what's going on with a quarter or more of the population in this country ...

What I do not believe - Due to the bad economy, he decided to go visit the folks in Pakistan, while there, he got hot and bothered by drone attacks, so as a good Pakistani he decided to counter-attack. This has nothing to do with Islam, which we all know is a religion of peace.

Of course it had something to do with Islam, as that is what forms the basis for the "worldview" of a large group of people here in the United States ... whether they were born here or whether they came over and became citizens or if they are still on a limited time stay here.
Islam is a governmental worldview that requires its adherents to violently overthrow governments where they can, and if they cannot, then to do so in underhanded and subversive ways. The end goal is not "religion" -- but rather to install a "government" which goes by the guidelines from Islam.
So, what I'm saying is that even if he is a "success story" of some immigrant coming over here and making it good (at least for a while) -- if he is an adherent to Islam, something could happen at any time, even if he were never planning on doing something like that bombing -- to turn his thinking right back to his "foundational worldview" of Islam, in which it is supposed to be the supreme government over all the nations in the world. That's his thinking -- even if he is a success story.
That's the problem with all Muslims... and the only way you're going to solve that one is to get rid of all Muslims in this country ... :-)

OK, we are not really very far apart. I understand your point now. I’m saying a significant portion of Muslims can’t be trusted. You’re saying no Muslim can be trusted. Like Siegfried and Roy and their tigers.

Exactly right... there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim ... :-)
One is either a Muslim or they're not. And if one is, from what their prophet says, from the Koran, from the Hadith -- one simply cannot get away from that "worldview" and what the adherents are supposed to do.
There's only one way to "get away from that kind of worldview" that comes out of Islam -- and that's to completely leave Islam... and stop being a Muslim.
Other than that, we can expect no help from any Muslims in stopping their "takeover" of this country ...
