I know why the Times Square bomb didn't go off.

Posted on 05/06/2010 8:15:49 AM PDT by ladyL

I am so EXCITED this morning as I "stumbled" onto a video of an event that I knew nothing about. I sat and watched the one hour video and wept and praised and feel completely overwhelmed by Yahweh's FAITHFULNESS.

DO YOU KNOW WHY THE CAR BOMBERS DETONATOR DIDN'T GO OFF? I do.

I watched a video of 30,000-40,000 people in TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY last September 2009, that met for a PRAYER MEETING TO PRAY FOR NEW YORK CITY. Right in the very spot the SUV, loaded with explosives to kill hundreds of New Yorkers, THOUSANDS OF BELIEVERS were calling on the Father to have mercy and protect NYC.

I am completely humbled right now as I see the power of prayer, to actually help change our nation. I confess and repent for not believing it would do any good to pray for this country, BUT after watching this video, where RIGHT WHERE THESE PEOPLE WERE PRAYING, a car bomb DID NOT GO OFF. You will understand why when you see this event.

You have got to watch at least the beginning if not all. OUR GOD REIGNS!!!! It is to Him we should be giving thanks for sparing all those lives in Time Square. http://www.nycprayer.org/media_center_facebook.html

I have some friends who 20 years ago had to drive in mid-winter over a dangerous CO mountain pass. Over the years dozens of people had been swept off the road by avalanches. None had survived.

When they got to the dangerous section, they stopped and prayed for 15 minutes before proceeding. An avalanche came along and swept them into the canyon. They survived the fall and managed to climb back out.

Later they said God had saved them because they prayed to him.

I suggested that if they hadn’t stopped to pray they would have been across the dangerous spot before the avalanche hit.

They didn’t appreciate my point.

I have no idea what fertilizer will explode but if he were going to stores trying to buy anything right now he might run into the same problem we’ve had trying to find what type we were looking for in stock. Seems you should buy fertlizer in Jan or Feb not in spring!

Gimme a break.

Fact of the matter is that the moron not only packed the wrong kink of fertilizer, but also confused M88 firecrackers from Pennsylvania (we he purchased)....with M80’s (Silver Salutes)from Ohio.

That, dear ladyL...and not prayer, kept that bomb from going off.

Amazing. I reached this conclusion without having read about it anywhere else. It seems obvious to me. Now I’m learning about others who have reached the same conclusion.

That’s pretty scary. Glad I don’t live in NYC. Undoubtedly that is their prime target.

I always end my prayers with “Thy will be done” as I believe that God has a plan for all of us, regardless of what we think we need or want.

While I believe in the power of prayer and in God, I am inclined to believe that the bomb did not go off because it was poorly made. It had some of the right ingredients to be a major disaster, but was not put together properly.

Of that, I am thankful.

Yeah, right. Sorry, but God isn’t going to save us and he won’t save us simply because we pray. If that was the case there would be no bad in the world at all. We have to save ourselves. To wait around and piously claim that “God will save us” is a recipe for disaster.

I fail to see what Ruddy’s conjectures have to do with the point I made. I did not say this guy was a lone wolf, or that his handlers might not have learned something from the operation. I’m sure they did. Doesn’t mean that was the planned purpose of the operation.

What I said was that it’s an illogical leap, with no supporting evidence, to suggest that the plan was deliberately botched. To the contrary, this botched effort is completely consistent with the track record of ineptitude shown by these islamist terrorists.

And to bring it back to the original poster’s premise of this thread: I thank God for that pattern of ineptitude. It’s saved countless American lives.

It makes no difference how many worked there, the magic number is how many died. Many people live on this earth and no matter what some die every day in horrible ways.

>>It makes no difference how many worked there, the magic number is how many died<<

If you see the glass half empty.
I see it half full.

47,000 people lived.

No, you go into it with a preconceived opinion, it is called faith, and it can and does rationalize everything. The problem is that this world would be much better off if it operated on provable truth and fact. If any situation does not agree with your faith then you have to change your perspective until you can make it fit. In reality, the truth never changes. Some people are just plain evil and need to be dead. Some situations are just wrong with too much death, pain, and suffering, and who ever is at fault or allowed it to happen should be held accountable. The church of global warming is a great example of this type of rationalization and preconceived ideas that are in direct opposition to provable facts.
