Obama administration says Emirates Airlines Dropped the Ball

Senior administration officials say that Faisal Shahzad was put on the no fly list on Monday at 12:30 pm ET.

So how was he able to board the Emirates Airlines flight to Dubai?

“It takes a few hours for the airlines system to catch up,” a senior administration official tells ABC news.

Another senior administration official adds that Emirates refreshes their system to update with US intelligence information periodically – but not frequently.

In any case, the first official says that airlines were “within minutes” of Shahzad being put on the no-fly list told to “look at a web-board” and manually check its passenger manifest against the news on the web board.

doesn't this mean that the 0bama administration considers Emirates Airlines to be responsible for our safety...not US Government/workers?

what are those TSA people who stop you before you get to the x-ray machines doing when you hand them your boarding pass and ID...checking the quality of the paper?

if the TSA isn't working to keep you safe...if Emerites Airlines who is responsible for your safety, then what good is TSA?...what are they, under the 0bama administration, being paid for?

Emirates dropped a tennis ball - - it would not have had any lasting result.

Now, the Jupiter-sized economic ball that Obama has foisted over all our heads is going to fall with terrible results.

Team Obama is trying to cast blame anywhere but where it belongs -- with HSD, and Secretary of HSD, and TSA.

They blew it. This was another time that the system did not work, that the attack was NOT thwarted.

The only face-saving for Team Obama was that the bomber was incompetent enough to either set the timer wrong or buy the wrong kind [non-explosive] of fertilizer.

While its true that the system was in place (Bush’s fault) someone should have recognized the dire urgency of the situation and overridden the system and had people in the airports actively seeking him.
