Young People Deserting Obama
HUMAN EVENTS ^ | 05/04/2010 | Ron Meyer

Posted on 05/04/2010 12:19:04 PM PDT by george76

I'm always entertained when older folks try to reach out to people my age. It's hardly ever a pretty sight and most of the time these attempts end up being hilarious. I found myself chuckling at Barack Obama's most recent effort to beg young voters to come out to the polls this November.

No one is buying it anymore, especially young people.

Even the most liberal of my generation are frustrated with the President... The radical environmentalists on college campuses across the country were furious when Obama opened up the coasts for limited drilling.

Young Americans are realizing they did not get the politician they bargained for.

Better yet, some of us are realizing that the Obama presidency is punishing our future. Down the road, we will be the ones forced to pay off the record-breaking deficits and debt that Obama's budgets and trillion-dollar spending programs are leaving us.

There is little doubt that Obama will have a hard time reconnecting with the new voters he had in 2008. While he may get the koolaid-drinkers, it appears most everyone else is dissatified with him and his policies.

What’s the old saying?

If you’re young and you aren’t a liberal, you don’t have a heart; but if you’re old and you aren’t a conservative, you don’t have a brain!

Saw somewhere today the Obamistas think they can recover in time for the 2010 midterms because of a better economy. Good luck with that . . . .

Young people are turned off by argumentative and divisive politics.

Time to grow up. It's been that way since Adams vs Jefferson... didn't you kids study history?

Democratic party is a zoo stuff full of spoiled white kids who want an end to economic growth and ethnic grievance hate mongers who only want SUVs and bling for themselves, a real steady coalition, not.

This isn’t a “bargain!” The youth of this nation helped elect a Marxist Socialist; a man who has no intention of living up to his campaign promises. I’m a mere 30 years old, and I could see through his fake BS.

They should make it so that ownership of a home is a requirement to vote. Like Obama says, they have no “skin in the game.”

Yeah, that's the saying. However, considering the shackles liberalism puts on people, I argue that liberalism is a heartless ideology.

There’s actually something to what you say. The younger generations, in the colleges, are normally liberals because of the professors. Once they get out of college and find out what the real world is like, most become conservatives. That is of course, except for the ones that don’t want to admit that they were lied to by the professors.

Young people are turned off by argumentative and divisive politics.

In 2004, I heard a mother say this to her friend. Her daughter had "given up" on voting because first she'd heard that Bush was bringing back the draft. Then she learned that only Democrats were sponsoring such legislation. She "figured" she couldn't trust "either one of them" rather than ACCEPTING that the MEDIA had lied to her about Bush bringing back the draft.

Until kids wake up to the Pravda Media, they will fall for this BS. Who's up for some deprogramming?

The Tea Parties and the conservative movement have began to offer a new hope of fiscal responsibility and a dedication to liberty.

Hmmm, are you willing to pay for your own college education, your own health insurance, your own children... or did you want to stay on your parent's health insurance until you're 26?

Excuse me, but I smell a RAT.

1. Obama comes out for a little offshore drilling -- looks good for a week or so.

2. Oil Rig explodes ... the followiing is from http://www.saltycajun.com/forum/showthread.php?p=145198

The Lights Went out; and Then...

Witnesses state that the lights flickered on the Deepwater Horizon. Then a massive thud shook the vessel, followed by another strong vibration.

Transocean employee Jim Ingram, a seasoned offshore worker, told the U.K. Times that he was preparing for bed after working a 12-hour shift. "On the second [thud]," said Mr. Ingram, "we knew something was wrong."

Indeed, something was very wrong. Within a moment, a gigantic blast of gas, oil and drilling mud roared up through three miles of down-hole pipe and subsea risers. The fluids burst through the rig floor and ripped up into the gigantic draw-works. Something sparked. The hydrocarbons ignited.

In a fraction of a second, the drilling deck of the Deepwater Horizon exploded into a fireball. The scene was an utter conflagration.

3. Obama changes mind on offshore drilling.

4. Obama looks good ... much better than before.

5. Coincidence? Planned ahead? Staged?

6. I smell a RAT.
