ERIC HOLDER PRESSER ON THE ARREST
Shazad was attempting to board a plane to Dubai when arrested. When Holder has a presser in the middle of the night, it's something.

Must have been quite a shock to Holder...heh.
Isn’t that the truth? Sometimes I really fear for this country.
Where’s the ACLU? I’m sure they must be livid at the profiling which must have occurred at JFK airport, RESULTING IN HIS CAPTURE.

Holder has been down for so long, with bad news around every corner in terms of his job performance as AG - you can see how desperate he is to be seen as presenting some good news, projecting, in some sense, an image of competence and good judgment. Not going to work, but you can’t blame the chump for trying.

attack soon. This is VERY out of character
for them, and they want to be on the record
as being on top of things.

Eric neglected to tell us that the naturalized “person of interest” under arrest (is he?) has likely lawyered up.
Not so incredible.
If they are seen having a high-profile press conference in the day during prime time, that would be similar to how Bush used to do things.

Awww, Eric stayed up sooo late because he just can’t wait to have a nice conversation with Shahzad over tea. Because Eric is so earnest and sincere, Mr. Faisal will surely tell him all he wants to know.

Holder probably just wants to reassure us that the suspect was read his Miranda rights promptly.
I can’t help cynically wondering if Holder’s middle of the night “on top of it” press conference is a diversion to help deflect criticism of the Administration being so slow to react to the oil spill.
Is he volunteering to be his pro bono defense lawyer?
Or is Obama just issuing a pardon?
Question: Is Shahzad Faisal from “Pakistan” or is he from “Paahhk-ee-stan”, as the President says?
