I can’t help cynically wondering if Holder’s middle of the night “on top of it” press conference is a diversion to help deflect criticism of the Administration being so slow to react to the oil spill.

No, he was busy working late on the New Black Panther case when the information came across. He just wanted to get this little glitch out of the way so he could, once again, concentrate on responding to letters and subpoenaes. So many cases, so little time.

Well, they've certainly a lot of fires to stomp out at the same time lately. It may be that they're just trying to show that they can do something right. However, with their stance towards terrorism, they've plenty of skeletons in their terrorism closet to be concerned about.

What I can't help thinking, is that they're extremely disappointed that this guy wasn't some white cracker, tea party type. Then they might have had a desirable outcome that aided their statist agenda. A Pak national (reputed to be naturalized US) is hardly an advertisement for the admins “nice guy” attitude towards the world's Muslim nutjobs. The only way it could have been worse was if this guys first name was Mohamed.

Well, that, AND the fact that the only thing that prevented another NYC massacre was an alert street vendor and a beat cop who took him seriously.

Remember that abandoned car on Times Square on New Year’s Eve?
