Bailout Bill Would Require Banks to Track and Report Personal Checking Accounts to Feds

It’s amazing to watch the civil libertarians hide when Democrats propose the most sweeping intrusions of privacy in generations. In addition to the litany of bad policies contained in the Dodd Financial Reform bill is this nugget on pages 1039-1040. In short, it extends government reach to every deposit account of every citizen.

Required Acct Monitoring

Subtitle G of the Dodd discussion draft bill requires that records be maintained and reported “for each branch, automated teller machine at which deposits are accepted, and other deposit taking service facility with respect to any financial institution, the financial institution shall maintain a record of the number and dollar amounts of deposit accounts of customers.”

What’s worse, banks will be required to submit these records to the new super regulatory agency called the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (page 1041).  The CFPA will be allowed to use this information for any purpose “as permitted by law” under CFPA rules—rules set by CFPA themselves.

So, lets get this straight—the law requires banks to snoop on its customers MOST PERSONAL INFORMATION and submit it to another government agency so it can be used anyway the CFPA see’s fit.

It is perhaps time to start thinking seriously about underground economy mechanisms, including acceptable mediums of exchange.

Guess big brother wants a run on the banks. I did that well over a year ago. I put just enough in to cover bills but if they do this, I will cash all checks and pay bills in cash or with a money order.

But of course illegal immigrant accounts would have to be exempt. They can’t even produce papers like the rest of us have to. It’s all racial don’t you know...

Cass Sunstein is on record as saying that he does not believe money belongs to individuals, he says it belongs to the government, because they print it!

Well, they may print it, but It says "Federal Reserve Note" on top, so it's on loan from the banking cartel.

“So how are they going to track what I have in my mattress?

Phase out the old currency, and give you a time limit to trade it in for the new. Currency exchange records would be kept, and compared to tax records, etc.”

Gold, silver, and bullets.

puts a new perspective on the 'render to ceasar' quote eh ???

very shortly the underground economy will be independent of 'money' as it wont have any value anyways...

Then Americans need to set up a swap and barter system. Be no part of their evil world. Use something else for currency as much as possible. We can still use the few shekels they allow us to keep, but we can do a lot of damage by working around them.
There are more ways than one to protest.

We can survive without Washington's money, but they can't survive without ours.

Tracking of businesses. Yeah I will accept that when I can track the amount of government spends. Sounds like a scriptural context, there was a man who owned some debts, the debts overwhelmed him, so the government forgave him of his debt. In turn another man owned the first a small debt, he had the man placed in prison, and sold his property for the debt owned. In turn the man himself was detained by the government because he refused to forgive another of his debts.

The governemt owes more to China, Japan and other countries, yet the government demands a business give an accounting in regard to personal expenses. The Pissant in the White House views America as his personal checkbook, and writes out checks to every other asshole in the world and asks for others in America to cover his tomfoolery. Shove the current administration in DC - District of Corruption. This will not end well for small businesses and so called Wall Street. If this is achieved against Wall Street and Banks, it will come to other businesses in America, right in your neighborhood and your own business. Islamofascism at its finest!

It's only fair, after all the feds earned it and have been decent enough to divvy it out to us so we can survive.

We're voluntary slaves. We work - they eat.

All funds to be electronically exchanged and cash will be obsolete or even illegal.

No man, rich or poor, free or bond, will be able to buy or sell without the chip. Everything will be distributed equally in the name of righteousness.
When people start quitting their jobs, because they'd receive the same amount by not working anyway, someone is going to have to be eliminated for the greater good. There won't be enough money or food to go around. It happens every time socialism is tried.

thanks. I’m glad the Dems were against the big brother programs of that evil George Bush that would never have affected individuals as much as they want to. I think this exceeds the level of control that the Soviets had over their people.

God, please help us!!!!

Our government is more a mafia than a savior.

Beck is right. Get on your knees and pray for the people of this country like never before. Ask for forgiveness and plead for all you're worth.
People said an evil dictator like the Antichrist could never take over America. We value our freedoms too much. They were wrong.
