Americans losing confidence in healthcare

By Maggie Fox, Health and Science Editor Wed Apr 28, 12:30 am ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Americans are steadily losing confidence in their ability to get healthcare and pay for it, despite the passage of healthcare reform legislation, according to a survey published on Wednesday.

The Thomson Reuters Consumer Healthcare Sentiment Index found that confidence lost three percentage points from a baseline of 100 in December to 97 in March.

"Strikingly, Americans expect the situation to worsen significantly in the next three months," said Gary Pickens, chief research officer at Thomson Reuters.

"The thing I thought was interesting was ... the level of sentiment about future expectations worsened more. The future outlook seems to be causing the people we interviewed angst."

Thomson Reuters interviews more than 100,000 U.S. households annually via telephone surveys about healthcare behaviors, attitudes and utilization. This particular index is based in a subset of 3,000 people, representative of the nation as a whole, interviewed every month.

Costs too much, get too little ... Wasn’t that the plan of the death panels and reparations all along?

I love the whole idea that passing this Obamacare was somehow a good thing! What a bunch of idiots!

Heathcare is getting more and more expensive. Its also a “growth” area of the economy. Of course, every job has a cost and we’re feeling it now. My employer just increased health insurance contributions my 15%—30% for employees who are deemed to lead “unhealthy” life styles. Like Government, Healthcare has the effect of sucking the life out of the rest of the economy.

I’m waiting for a letter from my employer, too. I’m sure he’s going to have to raise the employee contribution portion of our policy...which is a very good one...which I haven’t had to even use in four years. *Fingers Crossed*

But don’t tell 0bama that! He’ll lump me in with all those other evil ‘Cadillac Policy’ owners and then I’ll be screwed sooner rather than later. ;)

I also wonder how this is going to effect medical coverage for Veterans? From what my friends at the VA tell me, they are just about maxed out right now and straped for operating cash as it is.

When push comes to shove, I’m going to cancel my employer policy after I camp out on the steps of our local VA Hospital to see what they can do for me ‘for free.’ Wonder how many other Veterans will be doing the same?

This whole debacle is going to have dire consequences for EVERY little sector of our economy...which, of course, was by DESIGN!

I talked to a few very rabid supporters of Obamacare. They really think that it will be free, have near instant access to the best care. They think that it will all be paid for by others but not them. They never read the bill, however they are sure the government is the solution.

I think before this is over we will all have to learn an updated form of pioneer medicine so we can treat our own afflictions.

The wrath of the American people is coming when they realize that Big Brother, meaning the Thug in Chief and this amoral corrupt Congress, intend to control their lives cradle to grave.

Those who were for health care are idiots to start with. They voted for a pig in a poke not knowing what was there. How stupid was that?

Ha! You can only get free care at the VA if your are destitute or nearly so. When I got out, we had a VA rep come and give us a 4 hour presentation on all the VA benefits. It was mostly a waste of time.

They always open their argument with the phrase, "I am not a liberal or anything but....."

From the same genius reporters who brought you "Surprisingly, the crime rate is down, despite there being record numbers of inmates in prison."

They really do. It amazes me.

Better bone up on vitamin, mineral and herbal treatments, basic life saving skills...along with a SURVIVAL GARDEN and hunting skills.

Better bone up on alternative meds. and if possible, get a dr. in the family. They will see that their families are taken care of as much as possible, banding together so they have access to gps plus specialists.
