Ha! You can only get free care at the VA if your are destitute or nearly so. When I got out, we had a VA rep come and give us a 4 hour presentation on all the VA benefits. It was mostly a waste of time.
I can hide my assets. ;) (Seriously, it would be a LAST resort.)
