Better bone up on alternative meds. and if possible, get a dr. in the family. They will see that their families are taken care of as much as possible, banding together so they have access to gps plus specialists.

I do a lot of self medication I know when I need benedryl for a sinus issue, have had to for years when I was uninsured or under insured. I visit my doctor 2 times a year now to get my 3 main RX’s renewed (they want blood work), or if an unexpected medical problem crops up, the rest I treat OTC. At one time it was once every 3-4 years in my younger days when my thyroid was functioning normally. Now at nearly 62 I have to go in at least twice a year to keep tabs on the under active thyroid, fibromyalgia and OA.
