In a news conference broadcast on Phoenix radio station KFYI, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer announced that she has signed Senate Bill 1070 into law. She signed it live on the air.
Who do you think incarcerates juvenile offenders in Maricopa County detention?
I witnessed this in a Federal School program (during the summer) that I was teaching in. It was only open to ESL students, which of course in this area all speak Spanish. Most of the kids were born in the US or had been here a while. (Grade School). When they put the US v Mexico soccer game on TV at lunch. All of the kids, I do mean almost every single one, was cheering for Mexico and when I asked some why, it was because they were “Mexican”.
Woohoo! I never thought she’d do it. Take that La Raza! Saw a report today with a kid crying over parents being sent home (see they don’t think of this as home) and kids staying in US. Take the kids with ya, we aren’t holding them hostage.
Oh please, your BS has gone on long enough.....we our housing the flow overs from California in private prisons all over the US, including my state. They are all South American thugs. Keep your damn cheap lettuce.
“How much for school? School Lunches? Medical Care? “
It goes on and on...look at just the prosecution costs on the federal level, not to mention the states.
In 2009, the U.S. Justice Department filed nearly 92,000 immigration-related criminal cases in the federal courts. The record-breaking trend accounted for************ more than half of all new federal prosecutions in the country, according to Justice Department data maintained at Syracuse University.

“most criminals get kicked out of public schools but get their education from charter schools”
I found that good charter schools are great and it helps that they can kick out the bad apples you speak of. In general, a well-run charter school has nicer kids than regular public schools.
We agree. Most don’t know how bad it is here.
I never agreed with the HC bill passed by the feds. But because they eliminated kids care in the state budget next year 300 mil it will cost this state 7-10 bil over the next three fy which this state doesn’t have
there are now organizations willing to donate that money to the state to fund it
sad state of affairs in az budgetwise
this bill just makes it worse
Nope, you are dead wrong. There are Charter schools and some alternative schools that are run by the Public schools themselves, for those who can’t control their behavior or attend school (under age 16). Check the listings for the highest AIMS scores, criminals don’t score high.
One of the highest is the University High School in Tucson.
Public Schools have a very difficult time kicking anyone out.
The Charter Schools can.
they come now cuz gov brewer is pushing it
Good for her! Are you watching, Governor Bredesen (D) Tn.? This is how its done.
Thanks for that reminder. He’s been here for a long time. Must be a sleeper cell, posting enough, but not enough to be banned. haha
you know i wouldn’t even pretend to tell someone from il how it is there
i hope your former gets his wish and the courts tell obama he has to testify
They’re telling a great story about the high school kids who skipped school to go protest a few days ago. The ones from Maryvale headed out in the wrong direction at first. Finally someone got their smart phone GPS going and turned around in the right direction. As they walked, they came across another group of students from Trevor Browne High School. Since the two schools have a rivalry, they got into a big fight. So the Phoenix PD officers who were there to protect the protesters had to break up a fight between them instead. Some unnamed Phoenix PD officer sent KFYI host Mike Broomhead an email (Mike is a big PD supporter).
I never said that she was nervous - I said that she made me nervous by dragging out the signing.
Perhaps she did time her signing for the news cycle, or to counter Bozo's denunciation of the bill (for maximum political effect) -- who knows?
I'm just glad she signed it. Now, we need to get other states to follow suit.
I have no trouble believing that with some of that crowd down there and the agitating that is going on, some would attack bystanders, legislators, etc.
Bravo!!! She did not let the one intimidite her! I tell you - that’s only women who have gutts now! Bravo!!!
I’ve done hundreds of intakes at Juv Corr and nearly every youth that sent to the state attended charter schools cuz public schools had already kicked them out
“They just had a short interview with a supporter at the State Capitol. A Phoenix Police Lieutenant told him that if he walked to his car he would be taking his life in his hands because the opponents had sticks and guns and knives. He made his way to his car with an armed escort. I hope no one gets hurt down there today, and I wish I were there now.”
If only the feds had done something LONG ago about this, we wouldn’t be worrying about people’s safety. Good US citizens have been attacked at nearly every anti amnesty protest.
My problem with illegal aliens is this. Their ‘I’m entitled or else’ attitude reminds me TOO much of some of my own relatives. They’ll use you, move into your house, eat your food and BITCH if you dare ask anything of them.
I managed to finally get rid of that bunch, but it wasn’t pleasant and it won’t be pleasant for Arizona either, but it MUST be done or the entire house will fall, just as mine would have if I’d continued to give to those compassion who didn’t deserve it in the first place.
Illegal immigration is simply more ‘share the wealth’ socialism.
