It’s about rich people’s views.
We can afford fossil fuels! Let the little people look at them!
Yeah, a wind farm 20 MILES off shore.
Put these damned things in the back yard of some little plebeian! But don’t you DARE think about spoiling the view of we the IMPORTANT people.
The American public!
The liberal’s dilemma; “The world’s just gotta be perfect-especially the part I live in!”
I love this fight.
Highlights the total hypocrisy of the denizens of these expensive properties - Wall Streeters, Politicians and assorted do gooders who would mandate salt bans for us all, but don’t want their pretty seaviews marred by windmills.
I’m enjoying the thought Teddy ‘Drown Em!’ Kennedy and Walter ‘I lied about Tet’ Cronkite are cussing up a storm wherever they are today...
And it couldn’t have been put in a better spot - what with all the hot air blowing out to see from onshore.
I’ll probably get flamed, but wind farms are ugly. I drive across Wyoming from time to time on I-80. I’m weird, but I find a beauty in the big empty. Now these wind mills are all over the place. It’s ugly. Give me a good old coal, gas fired, or nuclear plant. They’re reliable and compact.
Leftists vs. leftists.
I doubt if there’s anyone left on Cape Cod who isn’t a leftist.
If they ever caught a conservative hanging around there, they’d probably impale him to put an end to his carbon emissions.
They are towering, loathsome technobeasts — hideous, gruesome monuments to the tyranny of objects.
“The most notable opponent was the late Sen. Ted Kennedy”
Ted Kennedy (D-HELL) may he never rest, passed even his hypocritical standards when he was overheard to say that he could not believe anyone was serious about ruining the waters of the Cape with these things...
This could be a close source for these loons but they would never go for it, instead of windmills, especially with a highly efficient Co-Generation Gas Turbine with cycle efficiencies in the 60% range, they could power both of their darn Islands.
A friend has a friend that is the Consultant for a firm that was the checker on a proposed Natural Gas Tank for Boston with the gas source from Africa. The Eco-Greenies scared everyone into saying no, when this architect type new their fears they were selling were crazy from a technical perspective.
Once again, the Comrades in MA take it in the shorts...
I don’t blame them for not wanting their view spoiled by those things.
But—had liberals ended LEGAL immigration 45 years ago instead of opening the floodgates to it, we’d have half as many people and twice as much fossil fuel to go around at half the price.
I guess they thought they could pack the USA full of people, and still have plenty of resources to go around.
Kill a thousand endangered birds with a windmill and one is an environmentalist.
