AZ-Sen. 2010: McCain says he prefers 'great American' over maverick or partisan labels (BARF ALERT)
The Hill, Washington, DC ^ | 2010-04-17 | Bridget Johnson

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said he wasn't picking sides between "maverick" and "partisan" in response to his primary fight against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.

When asked on "Fox News Sunday" whether he'd gone from his maverick stance toward a position further on the right, McCain said, "Now that I'm fighting against this administration... then I'm a partisan. But I'm a fighter and that's what I am."

"...I prefer 'great American' myself," the 2008 presidential candidate quipped.

McCain said he passed the "litmus test" of being a true conservative over Hayworth because of his opposition to earmarks and pork-barrel spending.

"I enjoy the race, I love a campaign and I'm confident of victory," he said.

"Now that I'm fighting against this administration..."

"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

Fighting AGAINST? By endorsing BO while he was running against him? By supporting BO's cap 'n' tax, and unilateral nuclear disarmament? If this is "fighting against," I'd hate to know what "fighting for" looks like.

"...I prefer 'great American' myself,"

What an arrogant ass.

Benedict Arnold was a "great American" too, the hero of the Battle of Saratoga.

Judas was one of the chosen few picked by God Himself to be part of the inner circle of Jesus Christ, being prepared for apostleship in order to carry the Gospel to the whole world.

And we all know how they turned out.

Senator, it ain't how you start the race that matters in the end, it's how you finish.

McCain said he passed the "litmus test" of being a true conservative over Hayworth because of his opposition to earmarks and pork-barrel spending.

McCain Circular Reasoning:

1) I'm a conservative
2) I oppose earmarks and pork-barrel spending
3) The definition of a conservative is someone who opposes earmarks and pork-barrel spending
4) Therefore, I am a conservative

LOL

“...I prefer ‘great American’ myself,”

Probably, but the rest of us call you “s**thead”.

Close enough for government work, I think.

"Great Americans" do not say one thing one day, and the opposite the next. "Great Americans" do not lie. "Great Americans" do not sing to a Town Hall "Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb Bomb Iran". "Great Americans" do not bring down five military planes. "Great Americans" do not call anybody and everybody, "MY FRIEND". "Great Americans" do not write up a bill to give amnesty to the parasitic INVADERS that are robbing us blind, with all their bennies.

A "Great American" sticks up for needs of the citizens of the country he represents, no matter how bad he is perceived, or how much bad publicity he gets. He stands his ground, come hell or highwater.

McCain was asked a direct question and shown video proof of the lie he told but he couldn’t explain it in any coherent way. He should change parties immediately. He will make an excellent RAT who just says anything to placate the group he is talking to.

McCain is just another make-me-puke politican who exploited his war record.

How is it that a man like John McCain who served his country nobly, flew jets off of carriers (one of the worlds hardest and most dangerous jobs) was in combat, and was tortured by a vicious enemy and lived through it turned out to be such a,....what, what is he now? A nick name for a cat?

Is he really so naive? Did he fall on his head or something?

What does he think the Dhim Dims are doing to the country and our security? I don't get it.
