“Overall, 45% of the voters also pay no income tax. Coincidence?”

Right, we have to let this soak into our understanding of where we’re at as a nation. Half of us (this nation) do not ‘own’ the process, do not truly care about anything other than freeloading. And let’s be honest, many wealthy, including wealthy RATS to be sure (ultimate hypocrites) also know how to shield themselves from paying many taxes with myriad loopholes.

I think a flat tax makes more and more sense.

“The strongly approves swings anywhere from 23 to 35 within a week, which makes measurement very questionable in my opinion.”

Thanks for your “concern” noob.

Holy smokes. His liberal base is at least 40-45% and he pushed health care through for them and he only gets 60% strong approval from his strongest base?

Something is going to give soon.

"These swings are all about the left-wing.

What has gotten them mad now? They're angry that Obama can't make the Tea Parties go away?"

Interesting point. Also, any national polling, by it's nature is somewhere in the 3.5 to 4.5% margin of error, given a sample of 1500 across 135 million LV. That means at any point, we're not seeing an accurate downside vs. upside by say 4.5%. So if the overall number today is 45 - 54, it could either be 49 - 50 or 41 - 58 based on MOE.

The rolling 3 day trends do take out some of that margin, I suppose.

But given the drive by media's meme that maobama had a mandate a mere 18 months ago at 53 - 47, 45 - 54 or 41 - 58 is not too bad, especially when you toss in the successes in VA, NJ and MA. Let's toss a few more successes in comeing up, shall we??

Still, we need to get the message out of fiscal restraint and how horrible the RATS are. Problem is the RINO pubbies have also led us astray.

So we maintain a two front war for the soul of the nation - against the RAT socialists and against their RINO enablers/protectors.

Primaries and Special Elections to keep front of mind:

The whole polling process has margins of error, of course.

It doesn’t mean Rasmussen or others shouldn’t try. Rasmussen in particular was the most accurate pollster in recent years:

“The remaining 18% are probably independents and “lite” lefties who are busy trying to make a living”

Or they’re on unemployment getting closer to their 99 months and scared of the future. SAD that we’re in this state of affairs as a nation.

The Gallup Daily Tracking poll now has it today at 46/46 and unlike Rasmussen they track ADULTS not LIKELY VOTERS.

Obama will not be sleeping like a baby this weekend.

>> What about the Tea Parties? <<

They’re great, but then they’re nothing new. So I say they can’t explain this morning’s numbers. I believe public opinion just doesn’t swing so much in one day, absent some clearly identifiable new factor. Therefore, I think what we’re seeing here just a normal instance of “statistical noise.”

Carville’s a moron if he well and truly thinks people will start agreeing with Zero’s America destroying policies ‘just because’.

Could be stastistical :) noise, could be something else.

Maybe his wise-@$$ed remark out of the abundance of his heart about how the folks at the Tea Parties ought to be thanking him for cutting taxes isn't playing real well. He does believe that he cut taxes, btw, because he is insane.

I don’t think we’ll ever see numbers much lower than 45%. If 47% of households pay Zero federal tax, we cannot expect many of these to vote against their interests.

The liberal “media” should have “vetted” this moron before they endorsed him and put his ass up on a pedestal. Unfortunately, attacking, trashing and destroying the Palin kids became the “media’s” number one priority during the 2008 campaign season.

You gotta realize that the 27% approval comes mostly from people who are on the receiving end of the redistribution of wealth and would be satisfied with the crumbs that the government would give them.

Not at all. It's understandable when you realize who the fluctuating swing votes are: the liberal base.

As a group, we're talking shallow and fickle -- with no guiding principles, no regard for anybody but themselves and no concept of tomorrow.

Their opinions are based on today. When Zero gives them "free healthcare", they rally to him. When they find out they're not getting it tomorrow, they start sloughing off. When they find out they'll have to pay for it -- or be fined -- more of them slide away.

They won't ever be "strong disapprovals" -- they're still in love with "Hope and Change" -- but they'll wander back to "President Obama? That his name? Yeah, he's O.K. I guess..."
