a few patients in Scottsdale, Ariz., got a small taste of life under Obamacare last week when they arrived at their Dermatologists office only to see a sign with the following taped to the front door:
If you voted for Obamacare, be aware these doors will close before it goes into effect. The note is signed Joseph M. Scherzer M.D. and includes the following addendum: ****Unless Congress or the Courts repeal the BILL.
Scherzer, who attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, has been a practicing Dermatologist in Scottsdale, Ariz., since 1976. Reached yesterday at his office, Dr. Scherzer, 63, said he plans to stop practicing before 2014 when the bills full impact will be felt because he refuses to deal with the headache of increased government involvement in health care.
Scherzer said the bills emphasis on punitive measures for physicians not following government-prescribed treatment methods under Medicare would increase his anxiety level to the point he would no longer be able to practice medicine. The maximum fine was previously $10,000; under the bill it will now be capped at $50,000. Scherzer said the fine system makes seeing a Medicare patients a difficult and stressful exercise.
Doctors have actually committed suicide over these things..."

My wife won’t take Medicare or Medicaid patients. Period.
A hospital tried to force her take 20% of her patients in those, and she refused.
Apparently he has not seen Dr. Zhivago. It is not up to you comrade to say when you will no longer serve as a doctor.
Phyllis Schlaffley nailed it with the term
Health Control Law
“Scherzer said the bills emphasis on punitive measures for physicians not following government-prescribed treatment methods under Medicare would increase his anxiety level to the point he would no longer be able to practice medicine.”
The one with the gold makes the rules. Not sure I understand his issue but I’ll read the rest of the article before commenting further.
It’s a hell of thing that retired military personnel are forced to use MEDICARE instead of military facilties when they hit 65- our “healthcare for life” benefits
too bad none of us will be meeting your wife
or maybe not
“Doctors have actually committed suicide over these things...””
Obama hates doctors.
I was unaware of that, but she’s an OBGYN.
Already lost my doctor due to the big O’s hoax care. They wanted him to buy a new computer system that costs $100,000 to handle the new plan. He said he’d work somewhere else first and did. I don’t blame him.
Would your wife make an exception for Medicare Freepers? I am not there yet but I would like to know if I will be able to find a doctor if I promise to vote against all rats.
You can still use military facilities, but u must be on medicare and paying that premium, in order to use our “free care” I was in Balboa Naval Hospital two weeks ago , and saw Navy DR’s yesterday, all my medical care is done at this Naval hospitl. Bill clinton put that tid bit in, that if we wanted to use military facilities, and are over 65 one had to sign up for medicare.. once over 65 u can sign up for tri care for life, and see any private Dr. but medicare is still a must then, between tcfl, and medicare all your blls are paid if you choose a private DR. or hospital..
We need to get rid of all non-minority physicians.
Your next doctor will be chosen on the basis of affirmative action. Period.
My doctor will probably close his practice as well. Our neighbor works for him and she is PO’ed. She hates zero.
Phyllis is the best.
Can’t say as I blame him. You’re threatened with a $50,000 fine because someone complains or because you happen to know just a little bit more about medicine that a Hussein bureaucrat, while Big Brother pays you less than your actual cost for treating a medicare patient. He might have a lot of company in the coming years.
and the MEDICARE premium is means-tested, so you pay more for your “free MEDICARE” than do your neghbors who are not still working
ability to use MTF depends on space available
here, no space at least for routine care
well then, she probably doesn’t have to worry much about the over-65 crowd!
Just like our current President. And you can see how well that's working out...
She will actually treat people for free on a case-by-case basis (e.g., referred by woman’s clinic), but she won’t bill through medicare/medicaid.
There is too much exposure and you could never turn a profit unless you ran through thousands of people like cattle.
When the Medicare rate cuts kick in this fall, many physicians and clinics will stop accepting Medicare and I expect some hospital will too. I will try hard not to say I told you so when my mother-in-law, who has Bush derangement syndrome, will find out that her Medicare is basically worthless.
