After candidates complain to organizers, Orly Taitz's speaking engagement is withdrawn. Taitz has been a leading voice in the discredited 'birther' movement.
(snip)
One candidate threatened to withdraw from the event before Tuesday's decision to uninvite Taitz. John Dennis, who is running for the Republican nomination to oppose House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco, said he would not appear on the same stage as Taitz.
"The presence of a discredited publicity seeker on the same platform with patriotic Americans distorts the focus of our movement, distracts from our common message and gives ammunition to those who continue to question our legitimacy," Dennis said in a statement.

She’s not been discredited. She’s been blackballed.
For some reason people from both sides of the isle want this issue dropped. I think some conservatives fear what will happen to this country if Obama is found to be a fraud. Biden and Pelosi are next in line, and in addition there will be blood in the streets.
Still, maybe they should just say that instead of blackballing people with unanswered questions.
Far be it from me to interrupt your blind worship of the ground Orly walks on. But your admiration of her and her talents say a lot about your own.
I think it's a bad move. Taitz comes off like a kook and the SRM will play it up.
I disagree. I don’t think she is a loon, she just comes across as one because she doesn’t/didn’t know how to present her case to the courts.I agree with her stance that Zero is not eligible to hold office 100%. She just doesn’t have the evidence needed, however,I have not seen evidence to prove he IS qualified to be POTUS, either. So I don;t think she has been discredited. But, at this point in time, unless new, real evidence is discovered, she ought to lay low, because without more evidence, it is a loser issue for us.
It’s not a conspiracy if it is true!
...Rove, Cheney, BOOOSH, Rush, Beck...
The focus of the Tea Party is the November election......for now. Orly may have some good points but nothing is going to get done on this until after the country takes back the Congress. Don’t let this issue dilute the efforts of the Tea Party. Stay focused on November.
She's attempting to run for the GOP nomination for California Secretary of State. Last I heard she had managed to successfully file the necessary paperwork, having first spent some time trying to submit it to a Gay and Lesbian political action group by mistake.
The truth is that you are willing to let Obama further increase the size and intrusion of government, and to further compromise national security for the next 7 years so that you can keep harping on the birth issue. It has the potential to kill our chances. If that is what you want, go for it.
Isn't that the kind of stuff people are supposed to learn in law school?
Even if all the conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship were true, that wouldn’t stop people like Taitz and Berg from being nutjobs.
Exactly right. I have been saying for a long time that those two are liberal trolls. It is very obvious from their post. Why does the moderator allow them on here?
Amen to that. This birther nonsense will be used by the MSM to discredit any Republican that goes near it, or any grassroots movement that has any level of sucess for Conservatives, fiscal or social.
Oh! Gee! I get it! Only some parts of the Constitution should be defended. The rest of the Constitution is a "LOSER" ( sarc.)
(Bears repeating)
We must STOP STOP STOP caring about what the Marxist Media thinks. In fact, if the Marxist media tries to discredit something, then THAT is the issue that we SHOULD be concentrating on.
You don't learn to call judges "traitors" (while your case is pending), or submitting affadavits that the Attorney General is conspiring with the judge against you, in law school. That comes from experience.
