Today, Apr 8th, 2010 is a significant day in the history of Missouri. The Missouri House overwhelmingly passed three 10th Amendment Resolutions. HCR 25, 29 and 39 all were similar in their affirmation of Missouri Sovereignty from intrusive Federal Government policy.
Being able to witness this historic House vote was a personally satisfying event for myself as I was honored to present testimony in the House Hearing on HCR 25, sponsored by Rep Jim Guest and be present in the same hearing room as Rep Brian Neives introduced HCR29 and presented testimony. In addition members of the Missouri Sovereignty Project were at the hearing to present testimony on the sovereignty resolutions.
Next significant sovereignty issue in Missouri is the Health Care Freedom Act which has already passed the House and is awaiting perfection in the Senate. Three weeks ago the Missouri Senate debated the Health Care Freedom Act, sponsored by Sen Jane Cunningham, for nearly 8 hours before adjournment. It is very likely the Health Care Freedom Act will be reintroduced to the Senate Floor next week.
If passed by the Senate, the Health Care Freedom Act will go to the vote of Missourians in November in the form of a constitutional amendment, that makes it illegal for the federal government to compel any resident to purchase health insurance under any fine or other penalty.
Thanks. I missed it. Just a few days ago he said he would not be joining-he must have found a private source of funds.
10th Amendment in Missouri Ping!
I would like to know what part of the Constitution is not clearly worded. Purely bulls#it!!
The 36 page document was debated aggressively for 11 years before ratification, while 2400 pages of health control were barely debated over 4 months.
Which is most ambiguous and hard to understand?
Excellent!
“Maybe the reason he’s not seemingly shook up by all these resolutions and lawsuits is he’s going to just send in the goons to take over the state houses.
“
Maybe, but if he does, those goons wouldn’t stand a chance.
Excellent point.

Well, someone tried that in Missouri back during the civil war. They took over the capital and set up a new government. The original government set up shop in Neosho and continued in defiance.
Yep. That’s right, Missouri had 2 sets of government officials during the civil war. One for the Union, and one for the confederates.
Hooray! Thanks o_man for all your hard work to get this done. Pleased to be a Missourian.
Missouri is the most free State in the Union.
Let the flamewar being! :-)
