Week 259, April 2, 2010 - Good Friday at Walter Reed
FRONT GATE NOTES
We had a fairly quiet Good Friday night. There was no bus for wounded warriors and their families and it was a long weekend with many troops taking leave.
With no snow, sleet, rain, wind or cold to brace against, we had a chance to enjoy some good camaraderie and receive many honks of support from passing drivers.
Our MOAB (Mother Of All Banners) sends a strong message to the troops, their visiting families and all who drive past the front gate.
On April 9, 2010, the DC Chapter of Free Republic will mark Five (5) years and 260 consecutive Friday nights at the Front Gate of Walter Reed supporting and honoring our wounded warriors and their families.
WRAMC Anti - War Protester News
Several moonbats were on station. Ms Trooprally and I always disagree on how many there were.
I think they put up moonbat - sized silhouettes to make it appear there are more of them.
The moonbats left early this week, staying just long enough to collect their union check.

They do an awesome job! I stood out there with them in
a cold rain once, and they never waivered...just waited there
supporting the troops till the bus brought the wounded
soldiers back from the restaurant. It was something I’ll
never forget.
(Got to meet Michelle Malkin that night, too. :D)

GOOD FREEP ON GOOD FRIDAY!! Thanks for the AAR. We had a real good crowd there. Shame the bus was absent for the Easter Weekend.
Looks like WEEK 260 is getting some play.

Now those are some older pictures. I remember most of the FReepers in the picture. And that is MOAB, Jr. We are currently using MOAB, 3rd
And you have the twins, my cigar smoking buddies, but not as good of a cigar smoking buddy as BufordP and ConcreteBob. The twins are currently in Texas and have a blog for supporting the troops, but can't find their link at this time.

Please Keep in mind that in Sept 2011 Walter Reed will be closing. I would love to see people over the labor day weekend come and have a last HOORAY. When time gets closer will have MR T post a thread on that week so maybe some who have fell off the radar and other can not come because of health. This will be a great time for everyone to say good bye. We will stay until the moonbats stop coming though.
Great remembering taking those pictures.
