WASHINGTON Two weeks after President Barack Obama signed the big health care overhaul into law, Americans are struggling to understand how and when the sweeping measure will affect them.
Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors' offices, human resources departments and business groups.
"They're saying, 'Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?' " said Carrie McLean, a licensed agent for eHealthInsurance.com. The California-based company sells coverage from 185 health insurance carriers in 50 states.
McLean said the call center had been inundated by uninsured consumers who were hoping that the overhaul would translate into instant, affordable coverage. That widespread misconception may have originated in part from distorted rhetoric about the legislation bubbling up from the hyper-partisan debate about it in Washington and some media outlets, such as when opponents denounced it as socialism.
"We tell them it's not free, that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low-income, but that ultimately most of that is not going to be taking place until 2014," McLean said.
Adults with pre-existing conditions are frustrated to learn that insurers won't have to cover them until 2014 (though those under 18 will be protected in late September); then they become both hopeful and confused upon learning that a federal high-risk pool for them will be established in the next few months. "Health insurance is so confusing. You add this on top of it and it makes it even more confusing," McLean said.

Re: “................Ive said all along that the clueless ones already recieve free healthcare and have been lead to believe they will receive something more with this insurance. They are going to be exremely preturbed when they find out they already receive all they are going to get.”

What do they want? A parting gift????? How about a toaster?
Re: “My better half says this is a strategy. Its working so well hes using it too! We have family and friends all over several states that decided to do it also. Its all over our state now!
I should be ashamed:) “

Ahh, but you’re NOT ashamed, are you?! I would not be, either. Good for you!
I want to know where I sign up.
RE: “I imagine that Congress will have to make paying of cash illegal, in order to force everyone, especially the young and healthy who will be net payers, into the system. Anyone preparing their counter-0bamaCare strategy should consider how they will access the black market, where cash will be welcome.”

Doctors may not be the best businesspersons in the world which why so many have business managers — but they will definitely want those cash-paying customers. My guess is that, as now, docs will take one or two ‘trusted’ employees into their confidence and have them handle the ‘cash’ patients’ billings and such.
The good thing about ‘cash’ is that you generally get a nice discount for paying cash. Nearly all docs currently take cash; now they’ll just take more of it.
Re: “Hey, on the day of or day after The Dear Leader signed “his” bill I clearly heard him say that, “Now all Americans can have a health care program just like the Congress has.”
I want to know where I sign up.”

Why don’t we just call/write/show up at Pelosi’s office(s) and demand to know about that? We can stir the pot a little bit, can’t we?
I am praying for SCOTUS to strike this down before the crap hits the fan. Otherwise I'll be doing witchcraft for medicine.
Stalin called them by the more descriptive name “useful idiots”
Great slogan. I need to get this made into bumper stickers, put it on magnetic tape, and then drive around college campuses with the stickers on my back & sides of my bright red SUV. What a bunch of ignorant dumbasses we have voting for president. 98% of demoRATs shouldn’t even be let out of the house or projects on election day.
They have mental impairments. They seem otherwise normal. For some reason they do think everything has to be “fair”. At the same time he is a shark like businessman out totally for himself. Do not get it...
Hope you’re right about cash prices going down. That’s not what usually happens on a black market, where the providers of unregulated supply usually have the upper hand.
Except now they’ll also have to help pay for it.

I don’t think I said cash prices would go ‘down.’ Rather I meant I am sure docs will be making arrangements with patients for cash payments more than ever before. Whether or not discounts of up to 20% (my experience) will prevail is in question — maybe doctors will discount less but I’ll bet they will do it — they love not having to deal with insurers and with the govt. running the show, doctors will likely be even less anxious to deal with the paperwork, etc.
You’re right, not ashamed:) You’ll never know how many laughs we’ve had over this. I’m laughing now just thinking about it! My nome de plume pretty much describes my outlook on life.
And yep, they want a toaster to boot!! LOL
I forgot to tell you the rest of my strategy. If enough of us get this type of “information” started, the Dums and MSM can’t combat it. They won’t have any way of knowing what story is coming next. Heck, if enough of us do it we won’t even know what story is coming next:) LOL!!! There will be entirely too many fires for them to put out.
The story of the day can be whatever we make it. Nobody knows what is really in the bill anyway. I figure I can help them out with that by saying what is in it according to me:)
It’s about time someone has to pay other than just us!
Seeing that things have “progressed” since Stalin’s time I think it’s safe to shorten it to just idiots.

Perfect... Just perfect... :)
So many mistakes will be made over a long period of time.
