In Barack Obama's first year as president, African-Americans have struggled to bridge a wide equality gap with whites, in particular in the area of jobs, a report said Wednesday.
In the annual "State of Black America" report, the National Urban League (NUL) said black unemployment numbers were nearly double those of whites as "the ravages of the recession" hit minorities much harder than whites.
"These are tough times in America and they require a powerful and immediate response," said Marc Morial, president and CEO of the 100-year-old civil rights group.
The "already struggling" African-American community risks falling "deeper into poverty and despair" if nothing is done to help them bridge inequality gaps in everything from health care to jobs to education, said the report.
Blacks were more than twice as likely to be out of a job than whites from 1972 to 2009, and the rate has fallen only slightly since Obama took office with blacks now 1.8 times more likely to be unemployed, the report said.
For the first time this year, Hispanics got their own Equality Index using the social standing of whites as a baseline.
It showed that while they still lag behind, with an overall Equality Index of 75.5 percent against whites, they are faring better than blacks, whose overall Equality Index was 71.8 percent.(continued)

I don’t understand why blacks and Latinos aren’t in the forefront of driving these trespassing invaders back across the Mexican border. They’re the people suffering most immediately and directly from the Hispanic invasion of our country.

Regarding the difficulties claimed in the article, frankly my dears, I don’t give a damn. People need to examine themselves for answers to their problem.

The money quote.
“If nothing is done”, meaning not an insistence that these groups “act white” in the sense of making their children study hard, stay in school, and be self-reliant, but instead meaning more Marxist redistribution programs that confiscate wealth from those that earn it to give to those who did not work for it.
The leftists never sleep.
Hard times always impacts the uneducated, unskilled, stupid and lazy the most. It doesn’t matter what race they are. The solution is not to be in any of those categories.
It is exactly this kind of weeping and wailing that moved Congress to not only lower the borrowing standards for minority home loans, they forced the banks to finance homes for minorities knowing full well those loans would never be repaid. A great deal of the sub-prime mortgage lending in certain areas of the Country amounted to little more than reparations via mortgage as it was, and still it was not enough.
Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” has cost us over $6 Trillion Dollars by some estimates, and yet it is not enough either.
The City of Detroit was built largely with Federal money back after WWII, and now large portions of several Michigan cities have been abandoned and are being returned to nature, and STILL that is not enough.
I am sick and tired of this ongoing fantasy about how “poor” certain minority groups are in this Country. We have people that are already extracting as much entitlement money as they can from the Government at all levels, while at the same time are out pleading poverty and demanding even more. A significant number of the supposed “poor” have illegal side incomes from any number of activities including drugs, prostitution and selling each other illegal hijacked copies of movies, CDs and all kinds of designer goods.
Food isn’t a problem either as the Food Banks are doing a landoffice business these days too. Our local TV stations all have a perpetual 1 million pound food drive going, and they even sign up grocery stores to participate, so you can shop and donate at the same time. They used to do this only at Christmas, but now they have it going year round.
Getting a Bachelor’s Degree sounds great, but how many of these minorities have even bothered to try and excel at a single subject in High School?? How about Elementary School?? It’s no secret that minority students harangue any of their peers who even try and excel in school as being “too white”.
Articles like this one make me sick. The Founders never intended for the Government to play Sugar Daddy like this, and in fact warned us against this very thing. But because we have people who couldn’t care less about anything other than what they can get someone else to give them, and a bunch more who couldn’t care more about finding new ways to give the indigent everything they ever needed or wanted, is why our economy is making the final few laps around the drain, and why there is little prospect for any real recovery any time soon.
yah, I know it’s early in the week for a rant, but this one pulled my trigger....
Maybe they should take a look at what productive members of America do when they don't live by skin deep affiliations.
Maybe Premier obozo should have thought of that when he was destroying the economy?
