SAN ANTONIO -- When you think of Easter egg hunts, you normally look for what's on the ground. But one local church is doing something a bit different this year.
Northrock Church gave News 4 WOAI a sneak peek at the hundreds of eggs they will be dropping from helicopters. The pastor said this is the first time they have done this, and they wanted to put a different spin on egg hunts.
"This is one of those events that appeals to older children as well as younger children, because everyone thinks it's cool when a helicopter flies over and pours easter eggs out the side," said Paster Jonathon Moore.
Northrock church's easter egg drop is Saturday at Lopez Middle School on the practice fields. The gates open at 9:20 a.m., and the chopper will start dropping the eggs around 11:00 a.m.
The event is FREE and open to any one who wants to take part.

What could go wrong? Remember the WKRP turkey event? They have to be putting parachutes on the eggs or keeping field clear while the eggs are dropped then turning the kids loose.

So, are the kids supposed to catch the 100 mph eggs or will they just let them smash into the ground? If so, they will be real easy to peel!

As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly! One of the funniest lines ever on TV.
It's close but I still have to go with Taxi's Rev. Jim taking his driving test.
"psst...What does a yellow light mean?"
"slow down"
"WaaaaaaaaaaaT ... Dooooooooes ... aaaaaa... yeeeelllloooooooooowwwww ... liiiiiiight ... mmmmmeeeaaaannnnnnnnnn?"
I think I lost conciousness when I heard that bit

There is a picture of the eggs at the link. They’re plastic.

This is just toooo funny not to comment. Reminds me of the WKRP in Cinncinati episode where during Thanksgiving they threw live Turkeys out of a helicopter.....not realizing they couldn't fly! LOL
