For many of us, the arrival of Easter means the arrival of a new season of joy of Easter parades, Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, and sweet Peeps topping off a family meal. Some may wonder why we merrily celebrate at a time when were remembering Christs crucifixion on the cross. And there is something to that. Good Friday is, after all, about God who became Man, dying on the cross for our sins. And yet we celebrate Easter Sunday, and we are right to do so.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This one verse sums up the miracle that is the Easter season and helps explain the celebration. Yes, Christ died for us, but in the end Easter isnt a season of sadness. Ultimately, the story of Christs rising from the dead three days after the crucifixion is the story of the triumph of hope over despair.
Hope is one of Americas unique virtues. Hope makes us dream and achieve the seemingly impossible. Its who we are, and its why were able to always believe that our best days are yet to come, both for our families and for our country. Easter time reminds us that we have every right to believe that this hope is based on time-tested truths and a solid foundation.
On behalf of the Palin family, I wish you all a peaceful and reflective Good Friday and a blessed and happy Easter Sunday.
- Sarah Palin
We keep Sarah and her family in our prayers.
Exactly. She seems like the real deal...but I certainly don't worship her or anyone else.
Good to hear...there were some rumblings that he was going to insist his spot be pulled...glad to see it wasn't.
Yes, she does.
Thank you, Sarah.
On behalf of my family, I wish you the same. Thank you for reminding us where hope comes from.
I wouldn’t compare her with Reagan or any human. Perhaps Christ.
Her rise from the ashes of her governorship (resignation for a just cause) is comparable with the resurrection...
You are a blasphemous troll.
Sarah Palin herself would bitch-slap you for uttering such foolishness.
Is this an Easter thought?
Those posts (#86 and #87) are among the most despicable and nauseating I have ever witnessed on FR.
The originator of those posts is demented and depraved and a disgrace to all FReepers, and to all respectable Sarah Palin supporters.
That troll should be shunned for such shameful antics.
This post should be engraved on Mount Rushmore.
Ahh. I see.
Very disturbing post. Something not right about this.
I'd like to try a few huffs of whatever you're smoking, newbie.
“Her rise from the ashes of her governorship (resignation for a just cause) is comparable with the resurrection...”
OKAY, RS, add Jesus to the list!
“I’d like to try a few huffs of whatever you’re smoking, newbie. “
You and I can gross a million a month wholesaling this stuff!
BTW, here is a list of historical and Biblical figures that Sarah Palin has been compared to:
* Washington
* Lincoln
* Reagan
* Thatcher
* Patton
* Truman
* Ike
* Churchill
* Cincinnatus
* Esther
* Jesus Christ
Weekend Update!
And in all fairness to Sarah Palin, I don’t believe she would encourage or condone ANY such comparisons and would admonish anyone making them to calm down and behave themselves.
Prime, U S #1 Grade A doobies!
Yeah, it’s called delusional ;-)
