Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer can now skirt the state's attorney general and file a lawsuit over the recently enacted health care overhaul that Republican AGs around the country say is unconstitutional.

Excellent. Kentucky’s RAT AG is defying the governor and refusing to join the lawsuit. Interestingly, he’s running for the senate, I believe.
Good news. Glad to see Arizona join the fray against this abomination.
Last high public office Goddard will hold this lifetime. We won’t forget his public betrayal of the Arizona people.
Ping.
Dem pundits are so scared to death that they are trying to say the opponents court challenge to Obamacare does not stand a prayer because it is, according to them, constitutional. They must have studied constitutional law at Moscow University.
Our former Governor Janet Napolitano left the state broke. Arizona could just stand by and let more cash flush states fight this lawsuit. We need the money paying down our deficit. This lawsuit is really a luxury we can’t afford to spend taxpayer money on..
Maybe I missed it, but who is going to represent Arizona in the lawsuit? Seems to me, that’s a major part of the story.
I saw him on Cavuto today make the assinine statement: “I didn’t see in the Constitution where people have a right to not carry health insurance.”
I beg to differ. The Constitution clearly says that the powers not given to the Federal government are reserved to the States and the People. The power to compel people to carry health insurance was not given to the Feds, therefor it was reserved to the States and the People.
The Arizona attorney general is a total jerk. He rans for the generalship presumably as a precursor to running for governor. (He is a formerly very popular mayor of Phoenix. He appears as often as he can in his naval uniform. Of course, he is a committed Democrat and has done his best to hope that the people of Arizona won’t somehow notice that a huge piece of probably-illegal legislation as shoved down the throat of Arizonans as well as all Americans. Governor Brewer, who was secretary of state and succeeded Napolitano when she assumed the position of Director of Homeland Security. Now, we are cheering on the governor though she has done some really bone-headed things. And Napolitano has failed at two things: keeping American safe and deterring illegal Mexican aliens.
How many states are now doing this ??
“Our former Governor Janet Napolitano left the state broke.”
Napolitano always had a republican legislature. She isn’t alone in the blame. In fact, Martin who is running for Gov and our current st treas voted in favor of three out of four budgets as a legislator under Napolitano.
Yes she is, we have never had a veto proof legislature and Jam-it consistantly vetoed every bill that was sent her way to cut spending.
The legislature submits the budget and then its up to the gov to veto it or sign it.
And Jam-it vetoed more bills then any governor in the history of the state.
that doesn’t speak to the budget bills.
I guess that you like the new 2% sales tax on food also.
As opposed to the billions in unfunded Medicaid liability that Obamacare dumps on the state; apparently that can be paid out of petty cash.
why would you guess that
btw its only in phoenix
When the dems accuse the AG’s of standing with the Insurance Companies against children with pre-existing conditions, an immediate reply needs to be made.
The Democrats are the ones who are actually standing with the Insurance Companies.
Health Insurance does not equal accesss to medical care. Many people with Medicare and Medicaid Insurance have no doctor available in their community who takes this Insurance.
The health care reform bill does not improve access it just improves the Insurance Company’s bottom line, by requiring young healthy people to pay for Insurance even if they do not want or need it. This provides a steady stream of income with little chance that the Insurance Company will ever have to pay a claim.
Furthermore, the legislation does not immediately require that the Insurance Companies cover children with pre-existing conditions. It requires that if they issue a policy, it must cover the pre-existing conditions. They can still decline to issue, which they will no doubt do.
