CNNs most popular hosts have lost nearly half their audience over the last year in precipitous falls that have affected the entire network.
In February, the network came in last place among the cable news nets, trailing not only Fox News and MSNBC, but also behind HLN (formerly Headline News) and CNBC, reports The New York Times.
The first quarter of 2010 was Larry Kings worst quarter ever, with his audience down 43%, to 771,000 viewers, for the quarter and down 52% for the month of March. In the same quarter in 2009, Larry Kings show had 1.34 million viewers. Kings audience is just a quarter of the size of Sean Hannitys Fox News show, is regularly beaten by Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, and is now fighting a sometimes-losing battle against a new competitor, Joy Behar on HLN.
Campbell Brown, too, dipped significantly, seeing its worst quarter ever in the advertiser-friendly 25-54 demo.

Larry King—who wants to see a dead man held up by suspoenders?
Oh, but Rush so had BOR pegged!
Makes me feel better all over than any place else.
Tastes differ. I like his radio persona, along with his buddies. Lots of fun and often informative. On TV, he comes across as less effective, because so emotive.
No big deal, just that what is sauce for one is not necessarily sauce for another.
God bless.
Large airports (in general) are owned and operated by the cities, ie: DIA by Denver City. Large urban cities are governed by....liberals. Just follow the money.
Larry King is Les Nesman.
O’Reilly is Baxter.
(Shep Smith is Mary Tyler Moore.)
The folks over at CNN should be careful what they wish for. They could be on the unemployment line. On the upside, they’ll be eligible for the health exchange.
Call me crazy but if the headline read MSNBC I would be jumping for joy. I think that network and guests feed more hatred toward the right (with Joy Behar coming in a very close second) than CNN. Matthews, Olberman, Maddow and Mika Brezinski (sp) cannot think without the WH talking points guiding their every word.
Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) was awarded 5 Bronze Stars for his service during the Second World War. Larry King’s not in the same league with him.
If I recall correctly, it's an Atlanta city ordinance that all must watch CNN and drink Coca Cola.
CNN is splitting up the pie of America-hating socialist goofballs with MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. Meanwhile, Fox News has normal Americans all to itself. It’s not fair. President Ubanga should do something about this.
Oh there's no doubt that MSNBC was redesigned fairly recently with the intent to go head-to-head against Fox News. But as liberals always do, they overreach and spew pure hatred toward the right, including ordinary folks like Tea Partiers.
CNN is still left-leaning, as far as I can tell. When either CNN or MSNBC lose market share to Fox News - and it's prominently reported in the media - I rejoice.
Why that 'ol harpie Maude Behar was rewarded with her own TV show, I'll never understand...
Snort!!!
Do they even have a clue?
Good news! Keep it up Fox!
>>Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) was awarded 5 Bronze Stars for his service during the Second World War. Larry Kings not in the same league with him.<<
Of course they meant the character — in RL Ted Knight had a difficult time with acting his character.
Up until this generation, actors were patriots and many were in the armed forces. Today, they are by and large traitors (with a small number of notable exceptions) and very, very few have been in the military.
Radio? Rush, Mark Levin, Hannity, you can’t go worong with
them becae they are patriots.
I like Greta Van Susteren’s program. She is pretty fair and objective; she is now persuing stories that the media used to do. Her legal background is an asset. If I was a news maker, I would desire to be on her program instead of Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity.
“They paid for - or just owned - the tvs in airports and their lounges etc. with stipulation of course, that they channel CNN.”
I have noticed people have even stopped watching in airports.
