Neighborhood Being Watched By Dept. of Homeland Security

A friend of mine has been followed by a car three times in a remote area of Wisconsin. The third time he sped up and noticed the car speeding up after him. He slammed on the brakes and got out of the car. Upon reaching the driver of the other car he noticed the person wearing a blue shirt with Dept. of Homeland Security embroidered on it. He also had a county sheriffs dept tag around his neck. Crazy thing is, he asked the security man what he was doing and the reply was nothing. My friend said he was the head of the neighborhood watch and was concerned about his sneeking around since this was the third time he saw him. Then asked who are you looking for since I know everyone around here, and if you are looking for me, you found me.

Thanks - I think. I did a boo-boo on that post, thinking the suspicious person was wearing a jacket instead of embroidered shirt like as described at the top of the thread. Had jacket on the brain for some reason. Oh well.

Just catching up on threads for the weekend and this one came up on one of my ping lists. Interesting.

More than once I have approached people doing obvious surveillance and asked what they were doing, because it IS my right to know. In all cases so far they have been civilian cops looking for one thing or another, usually a particular person under warrant. They are seldom cooperative in the beginning but I make it clear I expect an answer, explaining that in my neighborhood I am as entitled to know about trouble as they are. If they are spending time waiting around or driving around looking for someone it's a bigger deal than some unpaid traffic tickets.

Exactly. The raid began under inertia, there was no AG at the time IIRC (though AG Reno happily accepted responsibility in that famous testimonial before Congress - it was, after all, right up her alley).
