Juan Williams: 'Don't Tread on Me' Flags are 'Timothy McVeigh' Imagery
NewsBusters ^ | March 30, 2010 | Matthew Balan

On Monday's O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, NPR news analyst Juan Williams furthered the left's talking point about the tea party's supposed connection to militias, and even went so far to claim that the Gadsden or "Don't Tread on Me" flags used by the conservative grassroots movement is "the same imagery that was on Timothy McVeigh" . . .

Kudos to the unreliable O'Reilly for this smackdown. Williams is usually a more-sensible lefty than this. He really needs an education about the meaning of the Gadsden flag. Meanwhile, he's succumbed to the false and lazy "Tea Partiers are racist" trope.

Sometimes I doubt Juan even believes half of what he says.

“Williams is usually a more-sensible lefty than this.”

I disagree. He is only able to mask his marxist rascism.

Juan is a jackass in a FOX suit.

He, Bob Beckle, and Geraldo are immediate remote control impetus for me...can't stand either one of them...all libs.

And Greta, who donates to the democrats, is on the borderline.

Williams is gay. (not that there’s anything wrong with that said in my best Seinfeld voice.)

He fears ostracism.

Many Jews during Jesus’ time also were afraid of “being put out of the synagogue” if they admitted that they believed Jesus was the Christ.

The political left is in big trouble right now. They know they're toast. The left wing talking heads are doing the best they can to separate and alienate (Alinski) the Tea Partiers, but the Tea Partiers are holding their own and growing anyway. The left wing talking heads are making fools out of themselves.

The most painful part of watching Fox News Sunday is wading through the crap that comes from Juan Williams. I wish they’d get rid of him and thus increase the average IQ of the show.

Juan will occassionally try to be reasonable.

He was twisting himself in knots over this one. And he truely believes it, if the faces he was making when others were speaking is any indication. Either that, or he was very constipated at the time.

What I took from watching that exchange is Juan Williams is convinced the tea parties are about angry, racist, white men. At one point Williams said something about Obama being black, I wish someone had spoken up and corrected him... 1/2 black.

How about a “George Washington, John & Sam Adams, Thomas Jefferson image”: people who didn’t just take a poke at one government building, but tossed out the entire old government from the states... and then did it again peacfully when the Articles of Confederation didn’t work well.

Juan must have gotten his marching orders and talking points from the DNC this weekend.

All this liberal trash talk about Tea Partiers is so juvenile and racist.

O’Reilly said last night there are very few blacks in the Tea Party.

I think you are right. Eventually the majority of Americans (white, black, whatever) will see Obama is very bad for America. They might be afraid to admit it, though.

"The left wing talking heads are doing the best they can to separate and alienate (Alinski) the Tea Partiers, but the Tea Partiers are holding their own and growing anyway."

The problem with their Alinski 'alienate' tactic is that Alinski said to alienate individuals. The only thing they are accomplishing is pissing off more and more of actively voting Americans when they attack the ideals of the Tea Party.

U.S. Navy submarines “don’t tread on me” flags over their boats when they are pierside. The history of these flags is closely tied to the very roots of this nation. Ignorance is very bliss.

And the smearing/propaganda continues.

And where is the politician on the right to defend said American traditions? Why are there no Republican leaders defending you?

You won’t find them cuz many of them agree with Juan.

How long are you going to give them a pass, America? They aren’t risking a damned thing in this fight.

They are staying in background, like the worms they are, waiting for all you suckers to vote them into office in November.

The GOP is a joke.

Find and support real, principled, outspoken and courageous leaders, or you might as well just stay home in November because not a damned thing is going to change.
