McCain and Palin: Reunited and Feeling Good ("I support his position on immigration")
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-27

(snip)

VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?

PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

FreeRepublic has a terrible track record of figuring out via polls

Gee, you think?

I'm sure that President Thompson and Vice President Hunter will be along shortly to set you aright.

Ah, another crazed 1%er I see.

You're not worthy of a response, so don't bother.

I don’t show good manners to pissant, I will probably leave the freerepublic because of him. Besides, I’m sure you will. I’ve pinged him for abuse, if Jim R. wants to keep him around, I’ll have to go. I’ll come back one more time thou. Just to see if the nominee was pissants choice. So my last act will be to cancel out Pissants Vote. It’s going to be sweet, I’m really looking forward to it. :-)

Have you even considered what the ramifications would be if Palin were actually successful in getting her pro-amnesty, pro-global warming, pro-campaign finance reform candidate re-elected? The fact is that we must hope that the conservative wins despite Palin’s best efforts to defeat him.

I think there maybe only 1 Palin supporter who actually support McCain.

This whole fight is not about whether JD is a better candidate than McCain, he is.

This whole fight is about a group of posters, for the most part, who are supporting other candidates and are looking for anything to bring Sarah down as they see her as rightfully threatening the candidacies of their preferred candidate.

You are able to spot these posters for their lack of enthusiasm and objectivity in honestly stating with the same vehemence the flaws of their own candidate.

For instance, Rabscuttle385 is the leader of the movement at the moment, and we hear absolutely nothing from Rabs criticizing his candidate, Ron Paul, for all the egregious positions on the issues and actions (some unethical).

This lop-sided smearing of a candidate on one issue should not be accepted on a conservative site.

Guilt by association whereby Rabs, and many other posters are posting that Sarah is a RINO, when all of her other stated positions have been conservative should not be acceptable.

As long as this kind of crap continues, there is going to be a lot of contention.

The same DeMint that supported Romney? Why that RINO traitor!

And trust me, if DeMint runs (and he's said he won't), Rabadash will find a way to try to destroy him.

He is an equal opportunity destroyer, on everyone but the democrats. His guns are pointing the wrong way, and it's despicable.

“I am not a McCain fan but he IS and has been for border fences stating that the are required before any reforms were to take place.”

More wishful thinking. Please listen to his own words!!!

A day earlier, in Milwaukee, in front of an audience of more sympathetic businessmen, McCain had been asked how debate over the immigration bill was playing politically. “In the short term, it probably galvanizes our base,” he said. “In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, you’ll pay a heavy price.” Then he added, unable to help himself, “By the way, I think the fence is least effective. But I’ll build the goddamned fence if they want it.”

http://hotair.com/archives/2007/01/03/mccain-grumbles-about-having-to-build-the-goddamned-fence/

HOPING McCain will do or say the right thing is the only way McCain gets votes...that and the help of liberals.

March, 2008

Poll: Voters Unaware of Candidates’ Immigration Positions; McCain Supporters Farthest Off the Mark

–A new poll using neutral language finds that primary and caucus voters have little knowledge of candidates’ immigration positions. The results also show that voters often do not share their candidate’s position.

Among the findings:

* Only 34 percent of McCain voters, 42 percent of Clinton voters, and 52 percent of Obama voters correctly identified their candidate as favoring eventual citizenship for illegal immigrants who meet certain requirements.
* Of McCain voters, 35 percent mistakenly thought he favored enforcement that would cause illegals to return home, another 10 percent thought he wanted mass deportations, and 21 percent didn’t know his position.
* Voters often held different positions from the candidate they supported. Only 31 percent of McCain voters had the same immigration position as he does. For Clinton voters, 45 percent shared her position; 61 percent of Obama voters shared his position
* This lack of knowledge, coupled with disagreements with their candidates’ positions, makes it very difficult to draw any conclusions about the fact that all three remaining candidates favor legalization for illegal immigrants

Everything in it is 100% factual. You won’t answer it because you and every other Palin apologist realize that you’ve been duped.

And you are full of it.

Do everyone a favor and post Sarah's stated positions, besides the Illegal Immigration issue, that are not conservative.

I think Rabs knows that Paul is not going to ever be President. I also think Rabs is for DeMint, despite his soft spot for the grandpa in Texas.

DeMint endorsed Grahmnesty in Goober's 2008 primary against a more conservative candidate.

If rabscuttle supports DeMint he is supporting somebody who made the exact same mistake that Sarah has done this go around with McCain.

The PaulBot is so desperate and running out of lies, he is
trying to suck in the peope like us who believe in
a secure border and against blanket amnesty.

Sean Hannity who has spent time here in San Diego at the border and has done special programs on the situation
and understands the situation as we do and the need to secure the border, etc is a supporter of Sarah Palin

The PaulBots use fake issues issues against Sarah Palin
because their main hatred for her is she supports the war against the IslamOfascists and has a son who serves in the war.
The PaulBots are anti war and anyone like Sarah Palin
they will smear and lie only most are adult enough to see through their child like tantrums

Below, a few comments on this issue by Sarah Palin.

Palin expands her position on Illegal Immigration

Palin: we need to close the borders. They are called illegal aliens for a reason and if they are not going to follow the rules they should not be in our country.

It’s pretty simple I ratched that one down to the simple answer because its an easier answer than some politicians want it to make it be. you close the borders.

You get more agressive about cracking down on the illegal aliens and we take it serious what our border patrol officers are trying to do

December 2009

Lars Larson radio talk show

LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress — in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?

SARAH PALIN: No, I’m not for amnesty. Let’s ratchet this down quite simply to remember what we’re referring to. Illegal aliens are called “illegal” for a reason.

We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.

Read his quotes in this piece.

That is not his whole position. That is one sentence. He does NOT say he is against a fence.

Except DeMint is pretty explicit in where he differs with Goober. And amnesty is one of those areas.

How can she be defended when she says things like this?

Let’s not confuse popularity with competance.

I was burned by the Fred fever in 2008. Sent him money, talked him up everywhere.

Fred let us down. Wound up with three RINOs on the ballot when my primary came round. Voted for one of them.

I am not convinced that Palin is the candidate of choice. She has some advantages Fred didn't have. He had some advantages she didn't have.

I'm frankly gonna sit it out and see who the announced candidates are before I decide to support anybody.

I'll definitely vote for Palin if she is the nominee against Zero, but that's as far as I go for now.

He has in the past. He was always pushing this hi-tech “fence”, the one that just got shitcanned for being worthless, just as Hunter told them it would

And we all know what an ardent supporter of RINO Romney DeMint has been. DeMint’s love of Mitt is all over the web, including praising the job Mitt did with HC in Mass.

Yawn....

Sarah is simply a faux conservative. No true conservative would cheerlead for the re-election of a pro-amnesty, pro-global warming, pro-campaign finance reform candidiate. It really is just that simple. Sorry if your brain can compute.

I am not wedded to Sarah Palin, but I like her best of all. I do, however, have a short list of very worthy others *in my head* in case she doesn’t run.

- - - -

I am so tired of that univison interview, primarily because other interviews have since taken place, and they have been also posted here with links. I am not saying she did not believe what she said then nor I am saying she has completely changed her mind. I can only go by the limited words she has said on the subject.

For me, it comes down to this: Sarah Palin is not an elected office holder and she is not a declared candidate for any elected office.

Obama will likely try to jam “Immigration Reform” down our throats this year, before November “with amnesty” so my focus is aimed at the Republicans in the Senate and at the Senate democrats up for reelection. We have to stop it there.

I’m scared to death that immigration is going to be an issue long decided before Sarah Palin ever gets the chance to have any official input.

I hope she will come out blazing against amnesty, but thus far, “amnesty” has not been a Tea Party issue.

Once Obama brings it to the forefront, I suspect all hell to break loose and Sarah will have to speak out, because I think the Tea Party(s) will.

Our Republic will be gone forever if amnesty is granted.

I am confident Sarah Palin knows that.
