McCain and Palin: Reunited and Feeling Good ("I support his position on immigration")
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-27

Posted on 03/30/2010 8:46:15 AM PDT by rabscuttle385

(snip)

VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?

PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

And Palin has the opportunity to clarify things on immigration. If she sees the light and unequivocally says so, I’ll be happy to see her running. Someone here needs to invite her on to FR to do just that.

Hi pissant!

Now, I have to LOL. Invite her to FR? LOL.

Um, I think she has a much larger viewing audience at her disposal. It's called the Fox News Channel.

What I see happening with Palin is the same disaster in the making done in 2000. Bush campaigned just a shade to the right of LBJ. People in here were posting their fantasy wishes for what Bush really meant was... and how all of it was a part of some grand secret political move. Well he sure proved them wrong. On domestic issues he was LBJ-2 and set us on a course for Obama. Pakin is likeable but only talks the Conservative talk when it is to her political advantage to do so then it's back into the McCain camp she goes.

You're comparison is not even close.

Sarah, with the exception of this Immigration issue, is a bona-fide conservative, Socially, Fiscally, and Militarily.

You have nothing to base that comparison on except the current Illegal Immigration Kerfuffle.

The use of hyperbole by PDS sufferers on FreeRepublic is amazing.

She endorsed McCain’s position 100% during the campaign. Now she says she agrees with his position on Immigration, which just so happens to include amnesty.

Calling it another name does not make it not amnesty.

You can see the bang up job they do on immigration over at Fox, huh? It was Fox that brought up this debacle of an interview. Greta has no clue. Nor does O’Reilly, Hammity, Geraldo, etc.

” And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.”” Follow the rules? h u h??

When one enters the country illegally they are not following the rules. If one doesn't follow the rules they need to get out.

That is one the most likely explanation of what she meant, given that she also said, "No, I’m not for amnesty" and given that she said "Illegal aliens are called illegal for a reason".

"I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border."

Ignoring half of what she said does not make it true.

McCain’s position on securing the border is not only stupid, it is unworkable and does nothing of the sort.

In a 3 way poll that was posted in here this morning they had her in third place (out of three) against Romney and Obama. She polled a whopping 18%. If anyone thinks she is going to be the nominee, they need their head examined.

Then why is Graham co-sponsoring and championing the Graham-Schumer immigration bill, which is essentially a carbon copy of the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill (i.e., amnesty)?

The same Lindsey Graham who Sarah Palin dumped $1000 bucks into Graham’s PAC.....

Sarah just loves them Amnesty guys.....

No, it is not likely at all, in fact it is preposterous.

Wishful thinking on your part.

You are more thatn 2 years out and FreeRepublic has a terrible track record of figuring out via polls who is or who isn't going to be the nominee.

And I say all of this being terribly disappointed she has said the things she said in this interview.

I was a fan of Sarah Palin. No more!

You haven't made one post supporting Sarah Palin in your short career here at FR. You have, however, referred FReepers to an Alan Keyes website.

McCain’s position on immigration is clear. Read SB2611.

If McCain loses in the Primary, then he and his light in the loafers buddy will join forces with Obama and jam amnesty through. Yes he is that venial.

Sarah's unmitigated support for McCain troubles me greatly, but I have no control over her position except, we can Pray, which is what we should be doing in any case.

Diversity the adverb form of Perversity.

She has been asked about illegal immigration 6 times on six major conservative talk shows. She parsed and equivocated on every one of them.

“There is a more humane way to treat them. If they can’t follow the rules, they should leave”

H U H??

WTF??

Another one....

“I am against the “DEMOCRAT” amnesty.

Uh huh....what about the McCain REPUBLICAN amnesty?

Just like Bill Clinton.

I was thinking...maybe Palin is sounding more like John Kerry: “I was for Amnesty....before I was against it”

Either way....people who support Amnesty hemm and haw about the subject....they cannot give a straight answer. Sarah Palin is pro-Amnesty....

Oh really?

That is all it comes down to?

No Sarah, it is not!

What about the 20 + million ALREADY HERE?

And McCain’s position on ‘securing the border’ is pathetic. He is against the border fence, which is the ONLY way to secure the border.

You neglected to say “Hi” to me. :(

Neil Cavuto is my favorite and I’ve taken to watching Fox Business more and more because I also like Stuart Varney. Greta is Greta, she never goes in for the kill no matter the guest. She likes Sarah and her husband, John Coale, still advises or helps Sarah in some capacity.

Geraldo is fully in favor of amnesty and Huckabee is too full of jokes for me to try to define his positions on most issues. I’m not sure what Hannity’s is either or BOR’s for that matter, but I don’t think they’re for amnesty either.

I know Glenn Beck is not for amnesty.
