Doc Balkins: "Subject: WalMart vs The Morons"

#1 Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private Employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the World.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super CentersSuper Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 Years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur At a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to Fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature, It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:

The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

Medicare and MedicaidMedicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.

You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure. You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

(Note: This was sent as an e-mail and I thought it was a great one to pass around)

Costco is even worse, yet somehow a certain female tricks me into going with her at least once a month. Between the surly (and overwhelmed) checkout clerks and the “membership police” (who threaten to throw you out if your picture doesn’t look EXACTLY like you do on that given day), I really loathe that place. Besides, it is run by Seattle-area Obamunists.

Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private Employer, and most speak English.

But 60% of their customers do not, unless we count Ebonics as English.

It’s that way here depending on the store and sometimes time of day.

Its a regional thing. In places like Clarksville, TN (where my sister lives) EVERYBODY goes to Wal Mart without a social stigma attached, and it functions as the "downtown" of such areas.

In my neck of the woods, however, the Wal Marts are few and far between, and tend to be in crappy towns where the land is (relatively) cheap, causing the clientele to be comprised disproportionately by recent immigrants and hood rats. The one I used to go to in Princeton NJ used to change clientele depending on what time of day you would be in the store. Customer service, of course, was largely provided by surly Section 8ers.

Your experience with Costco has been considerably different from mine.

As long as I avoid the busiest periods, it’s fine where I am.

Its not too bad during the week, but most of us have to work during that time. Saturdays and especially Sundays are quite hellish at the one in Long Island City (Queens, NY). Ditto the one near my parents in Florida.

I agree for the most part, except for the post office because nobody else is doing what they do for .44 cents a letter, but walmart is no hero.

Federal law prohibits anyone but the post office from delivering mail.

You are living in an age that is dead and gone. Walmart sells only what people buy. They demand the best they can buy for the least money. That is precisely what Walmart does.

If you ran the economy we would be in deep recession for maybe 10 years before now.

we live in a global economy.

It Is

***I am not quite ready to join in cheering Wal-Mart.****

Well I am! WALMART led the way in breaking up the economic stranglehold the CHICKEN MAN and his CHICKEN CATCHERS had over NW Arkansas! They kept wages so low here they were below the minimum federal standards because they were considered agricultural.

**They move into an town and totally take over, destroying everything that was once there.**

They started as a mom and pop 5 & dime years ago. Sam saw a chance to buy a few bankrupt Ben Franklin stores and went for it.

I’ve noticed that Walmart goes into a town and the locals no longer have a stranglehold with their high priced goods and close up.
In larger towns Walmart goes in usually after K-Mart, Wards, Penneys, and Sears have already set up shop.

I can name lots of small towns that are becoming ghost towns. Walmart is over 100 miles way from them, so what is killing them? Mobility allowing people to go long distances for a variety of goods and services.

True Value
K-Mart
Dollar Store
Dollar Tree
Family Dollar
Sears
Hobby Lobby
Stage
Barns & Nobel
and many many more.

Okay....it depends.

Can't argue with that.....

But that's not what I responded to....

Here's what you wrote...and to what I responded to:

But 60% of their customers do not, unless we count Ebonics as English.

It's obviously NOT pandemic...as you have alluded to.

Certainly it's true in certain areas of the country...and I totally agree with that.

All I replied to was what you wrote, which I've copied above.....

Yep, but I am not a dope and I check what I buy.
Clothing I buy used, or USA made.
I just stopped buying Irwin products, (all made in China. They are now overpriced crap. I will buy the Craftsman replacement for the vise grip.
I just bought a Barrel Blaster, awsome product, rather then a badly made Chinese substitute.
I send as little to the Chicoms and as I can.

We import Apple juice from China. APPLES! What Are We Thinking?
Do you really what these people in charge of our food supply? They were starving thier own just a few years ago.
