...To those calling for a civil war, this Marine wants you to stop, and think...

It's been said that the military is always preparing for war. That is true. We prepare for combat every day. We ran 5 miles today to the rifle range and shot nearly 200 rounds a piece at targets and then ran back. However, we also pray for peace. I would love one day to be completely unnecessary. But alas, I am a realist, and I know that day will never come.

The headlines of the last week have reminded me more of glimpsing at the S2 Daily Briefing Sheets while in theater or the Al-Jazeera than the NY Times or the Washington Post. Think about that for a moment, let it sink in.

Before I get into the main premise of this article - I need to make two statements here.

First and foremost , when it comes to the back and forth of who did what to whom and why - I don't give a @!$%#. It doesn't change the action. In life we're judged by our actions, nothing more, nothing less. One of the greatest things of the military is when it comes to an enemy, the politics behind the situation - don't matter in accomplishing that mission. For the military , life is simple in that regard.

Secondly, Regardless of your political ideology, you've earned the right as US Citizens to say your piece - no matter how wrong it may be. That is your right, and I will give my life to protect it.

the moment you declare civil war, you're no longer civilians. The moment you attack the constitution, you're now enemies of that constitution. And I swore to defend and support and if necessary give my life for that Constitution and utilize every tool, technique, and weapon at my disposal to do so. And trust me, I'm not alone. It would never want to receive a frag order to Maryland, or North Dakota, or Texas, but it is an order I will follow no matter how much it pains me to do so.

I'm sure those soldier who took the "Blood Oath" to Nazi Germany thought they were defending their Nation against "Enemies of the State" but instead their blind loyalty to THE STATE made them conspirators with a monster to create one of the worst mass murderers in history.

It is constitutional to use the militia to suppress insurrections; I suppose it depends on the definition of “insurrection”.

But the SECOND you start committing acts of violence and vandalism...

There is not one shred of evidence that we have committed any acts of violence and vandalism. In fact, all of the violence and vandalism to date has been committed by those on the left. Anyone who doesn't have their head up their ass would know this.

Again, this is nothing but unadulterated propaganda.

This guy is a stooge for the marxists. Anyway, no one is going to line up and take on the Marine Corp, that would be stupid. Read Molon Labe or Unintended Consequences.

Wow.

Ft. Hood

The above lunacy aside this article seems to have been written by a guy who has convinced himself he is tough be cause of the “Stryker vehicles” and “overpressure” producing, “tooth enamel crushing” weapons that litter his workaday world (as opposed to the desks and keyboards that all of us out of shape slobs play with everyday).

I don't fear stryker vehicles or ordnance. I fear righteous God fearing men who act upon principle. England was pretty damn tough once and God fearing men sorted her out.

I wonder who actually wrote this pre adolescent drivel.

I like your tag line. I have a drink called the "Redneck Latte" in my coffee shop. I had some jerk act like it offended him and then say it was nothing different than have a N.... (he used the word) or wetback drink. I threw him out. I have never been so irrate with a customer or handled a customer situation so poorly.

I grew up on a farm. I know the meaning of hard work and farmers tans. I told the sob that I was proud to be a Redneck in the oldfashioned underagorty term. He just wouldn't shut up. He said he wouldn't be back, and I hope he sticks to his word.

More than that - service members are legally REQUIRED TO REFUSE to carry out unlawful orders.

In my army years I received two very different briefings about this.

The first was in ROTC before the My Lai massacre was revealed. I was told that all orders were to be followed to the letter. If I felt an order was illegal, I could protest in writing -- but only after that order had been carried out to the letter. It was up to higher headquarters to determine what was illegal, not me.

My second briefing was at the Signal Officers Basic Course at Fort Gordon in 1971, after My Lai was revealed. The JAG presentation said we were not to follow illegal orders, but as far as how to determine whether an order was illegal or not, I received a lot of weasel words from military lawyers. As a result, I left that class more confused than when I came in.

I don't know what the rules are now, but I don't see people questioning orders or disobeying them.

The military wouldn't just be fighting a bunch of flabby civilian Rambo wannabes with Ruger 10-22 rifles.

True. And why does everyone seem to assume that the civilians in such a case would all be blubberbutt accountants driving to the battle in their Volvos? There are some folks out there with serious hardware, and serious knowledge on how to use it, who are not in the military. And there are millions who would be able to manage a steep learning curve, as well as get access to the necessary equipment once order broke down.

“But this government of ours is a democracy.”

If a Marine actually wrote this, he is ill prepared to instruct me in the meaning of the Constitution.

AND if he seriously believes that the US Marine Corps would defend nazism against patriots, he does not belong in the Marine Corps.

Considering how he touts the “vote” as a line of defense against a government that is totally against the people, how does he square that with the fact that military votes have been notoriously UNCOUNTED by these same dem traitors?

And finally, NO. I will not, and cannot, imagine myself facing automatic fire from those service members who joined the military out of Patriotism who swore an oath to protect and preserve the Constitution, not an INSTITUTION that is anathema to the Constitution.

Of course, but the Commander of the Capital Police could have done this enthusiastically or with a MFR expressing his reservations. If he was enthusiastic or doesn't have his reservations documented. The incoming speaker should move the commanders office to lowest, darkest & dampest broom closet in the building.

Almost any Leftwingtard would be happy to fire on civilians. None of them can be trusted with anything.

Only unarmed civilians. Return fire would make them most sincerely unhappy.

Whether he’s real or not, he makes a decent point.

IF our professional troops were ever called upon to shoot civilians, and IF they followed those orders, there would be a lot more dead civilians than there would be dead military. Bambi versus Godzilla. No contest. Even with an outrageous advantage in numbers, the rebels would be obliterated.

The bigger question is whether our military commanders would issue the order but I’m certain that at least a few butt-kissing promotion hounds would do so. Another big question would be how many units would refuse to open fire on their neighbors and high school classmates. Yet a third question would be how many units would switch over to the rebel side.

Just pray we can solve this problem first at the ballot box, then with strategic amendments to the Constitution to prevent it from ever happening again.
