Is there any final tally on the numbers of the crowds? The local media (LV Valley) put it at “under 8,000.” I suspect it was a lot more, and had I been able, I would have been there to yell myself hoarse!!!
One of the local comedians was on the early news this morning and he said, “Everything in Searchlight is owned by Reid, so who is getting the money for the meals, motel rooms, etc.?”
Seems to me that most “visitors” were self-contained, so Reid needs to go hide in a corner. He was here, today, but was “nice.” I think he knows his political days are numbered. The eejit!

I’m glad you went and thank you for that. You are absolutely right...this is bigger than any individual. I’m planning on attending the one in St. Louis on the 5th. I pray they have some great speakers lined up...nothing is posted except the tentative date and time. Being on a Monday, I’m not sure how the turn out will be...but I’m going to be trying to rally people.

I’ve read (and heard) estimates of 8,000, 10,000 and 15,000 with traffic jams estimated at 2,000, I used to live in the area, and I can’t how Searchlight could accommodate all the cars and buses!!
The rally in Phoenix is in a tough place. It is a weekend but I can not see how it can hold that may people (Searchlight). Parking can be tough.

Romney Raising Money for DeMintFormer Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) will appear as the special guest at a fundraiser next week to benefit South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint’s 2010 re-election, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by the Fix.
The event, which will be held on Monday in Charleston at the home of Sheila and Bill Prezzano, features a number of power players in Palmetto State politics including money men Dick Coen, Bill Hewitt and O.L. Thompson as well as former Gov. Jim Edwards, former Rep. Tommy Hartnett and Republican National Committeewoman Cindy Costa. Hosts for the event are expected to donate $4,800 per couple while sponsors must give $2,400.
And, btw, DeMint's exact words were:
"Mitt is still near the top of my list of candidates, but I want to look and see who steps up to the plate," DeMint said after a fundraiser with Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio. "Frankly I think we need to wait until after the 2010 election to see what happens in Congress."Nowhere does he rule out Romney. Try again.
