Attorneys general from 13 states sued the federal government Tuesday, claiming the landmark health care overhaul bill is unconstitutional just seven minutes after President Barack Obama signed it into law.

The lawsuit was filed in Pensacola after the Democratic president signed the bill the House passed Sunday night.

Thirteen states. Sort of like how 13 Colonies started it.

I don’t believe them saying that does that if the SC says otherwise, But God help us if a Conservative Justice retires or dies.

Don’t get any hopes up. This is not only uphill, it’s a huge long shot. To think any court will find this unconstitutional, I have three words for those who hope for it: Campaign Finance Reform

Great, more defeatism. In France, the successor of Marshal Petain will embrace you.

Here’s where it can be defeated legally, by attacking the most egregious part of the new law, (one of numerous egregious parts)

specifically,

where in the Constitution — which was created to enumerate the people’s rights and to limit the authority the government can wield — does it say that Congress can make a law that mandates that the people must buy a product or a service?

There is nothing in the Constitution that allows that. And there are many places in the Constitution that suggest the government has no such authority.

That is clearly the most unconstitutional part of this. Anyone who can read English should know that. IMHO.

It would have to be death. No way any of the 5 would leave their posts while BO is in office. Most of them have actually said so publicly. (They should beef up their security.)

The opposite holds. Anyone who thinks this will stand is living in OZ. This has been orchestrated upon fantasy. As soon as reality is allowed in, it all comes down. They will fight to prevent any and all hints of reality; there’s what this battle comes to.

You mean the same CFR that has been having provision after provision struck down by the Court since O’Connor retired? It can be struck down by the Court since te re-alignment there. It just depends on where Kennedy comes down. He’s the swing justice.

Are they really coordinating and organizing that well? Naw! The Republicans couldn’t be that smart could they?

Wonders never cease but we should wait a bit more to see what unfolds.

One thing conservatives should get in mind, they have the power, the real power to stop socialism and roll back every socialist program since 1913 through the New Deal FDR era, the LBJ Great Society, up to the present and they could do it in the space of a couple years and it wouldn’t even wait for Congress or require any approval from Congress. Problem is conservatives have this power but they don’t even know they have it.

Thanks for the info on the legal approach the AGs are taking.

I absolutely look for one of the conservative USSC justices to suffer an untimely death in the near future so that Obama can replace him with another lib to ensure the court finds in favor of this legislation.

You can bet on it.

Yes, I think his thug administration and this runaway congress is just THAT EVIL!
