Im not crazy about congressional Democrats right now.
As I write this, Congressional Democrats are engaged in a furious partisan battle to pass their idea of healthcare reform. Alas it is an idea the majority of Americans do not share. It is in fact an idea that the majority of congressmen do not share, which is why President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are twisting arms, bribing, cajoling and threatening all manner of mischief in order to eek out a majority vote or non vote -- on a bill the people have made clear they do not want. They may succeed.
I am not all that enamored of Congressional Republicans either. It is painful indeed to listen to the feigned outrage of so many Republicans who spent years in office redefining the meaning of concepts like limited Government, and fiscal conservative. Surely they must realize that their inept stewardship over so many years not only opened the door for the leftist now in power, but also rolled out the red carpet for them.
The contract we strike with government holds that citizens will give up certain of our rights in exchange for government protection of our liberty and property. The foundation of that bargain is trust. And that trust must be guarded jealously. Men must trust that their wishes will be respected and that government will not over step its bounds. When that trust dissipates due to the contraventions of officials within the government, the actions of government lose their legitimacy.
This view is one expressed by President Obama. In an interview with the Concord Monitor then candidate Obama decried the 50 plus 1 pattern of presidential politics. It was Obamas opinion that it made governance impossible. He was adamant that healthcare reform could not be passed with a simple majority vote. He did not mean to say that passing a healthcare bill was not possible with a one vote majority. Rather he was expressing the assured acknowledgement that passing such monumental legislation in such a manner and without the support of the minority party would rob it of its necessary legitimacy. It has become apparent that in this, as is clearly the case in so many things, Obama was merely blowing smoke.
Legitimacy cant be had through backroom bribery, arm twisting and procedural maneuvers that corrupt and make a mockery of the spirit that enervates the principles of procedure, rule and law. Nor can it be had through default by being the only other choice on the ballot. Legitimacy must be won the old fashioned way: it must be earned by nurturing the trust of the people.
Do Democrats truly believe that a government that rewrites the rules as they go along in order to inflict a policy on an unwilling public can be trusted not to rewrite the rules whenever it strikes their whim? Or is it, as I suspect, that they are convinced of the transcendent virtue of liberalism--that only the lefts motives are unimpeachable that they are the good guys and in fact the only ones in government that can be trusted? They would be wrong. The passage of this healthcare bill will be a violation of that trust; it will be one more breach in a long series of abuses. I suggest it be the last.
How much longer will we be a party to promises that never come to fruition? How much longer will we listen to lies supported by evidence that has been cooked? How much longer will we allow the peoples representatives to run interference for private industry and expand the reach and power of federal bureaucracy? How much longer will we allow congressmen-for-life to mismanage the financial future of this nation- putting the security of her citizens at risk? How much more rope must we allow them before they finally hang themselves and us along with them?
If there is to be a second revolution then let it begin here and now! Let the political bloodbath begin in November followed closely by more bloodletting in 2012. No one will be safe. Neither a D nor an R following a name will be sufficient protection from the peoples blade! There is no time like now to begin the winnowing process; and there is no better reason than to dismantle a government that cant be trusted to keep its part of the bargain.
I have an idea.
Docs, nurses, medical servicers of all sorts should just strike, stop working except dire emergencies.....
This would surely have an immediate effect.
And I'm not suggesting that fasting and prayer for our nation at this moment should not be carried out. God may yet save this nation.
In my gut, though, I believe that we are on a trajectory that probably will not be stopped. I knew, the minute that the giddy announcement was made the night of November 3, 2008 that Barack Obama had won the election, that our nation was most likely finished.
I know that that sentiment is unpopular, and I will probably catch some flack for it, but I know what God has said about events surrounding His return, and I know that America is the last obstacle to world government and I know that America must be destroyed for world government to be implemented, and the destruction of America is what this health care bill is all about. This legislation will accomplish most of what Barack Obama was put in the presidency for: to bring America down and get us out of the way.
In spite of all this, Christians are told to "pray without ceasing". We can pray for our nation, we can pray that God will have mercy and step in and forgive this nation and it's people of our grave offenses against Him, pray that He will send revival and healing on our country, restore our nation, and save us.
We still do have that option.
It may be unpopular, but I certainly believe it’s true.
I believe you are thoroughly correct.
Thanks.

Yes, my anger is great—I am tempted to vent my rage in violence but—logic tells me that would only give them a reason to crack down on all of the tea parties etc... It would help them lock the yoke of slavery firmly about the necks of the people they deem worthy only as slaves. We can’t give in—not yet. There may come a time when violence is needed—This is not that time. But we must be ready.
1) store up 3 month supply of food—and a first aid kit.
2) Have a stock of cash and coin on hand even if you must
bury it in a jar in the back yard.
3) Get to know your neighbors—those in the FR and Tea
Party movement. These may well be your only friends.
4) Form the “Sons of Liberty” to demonstrate and march in
the street. Be ready in case they set Union Thugs
upon us. One man has lost a finger. Who will be the
first to fall?
5) Get you flags and pitchforks ready.
6) Keep alert to all the things that will happen in the
next six months.
7) Don’t believe any politician —None.
“No visible signs of body armor on the nice young officer there standing to protect the communist takeover of our nation.”
Check the front and back of “the nice young ossifer” - note the shirt is covering something at the front and the abck of his shirt arm opening.
‘Tain’t Fruit of the Loom under that shirt.
And it looks like there will be blood.....
We are soooooooo screwed........
It already started in the insurance companies this last Summer. Our deductible was raised to $3,000 (max per family - $1,000 per individual) and our premiums were raised to cover the costs of a secondary insurance plan to cover the deductibles. We thought it was his old employer who was having trouble, but his new job has the same health insurer and the same changes were made to the employees’ plans at his new employer. Hence, it was NOT the employers who made the change — it was the insurance company itself. I have no clue how this new legislation will effect the policy now...
They have been planning on and setting up a blood bath for a long time.
Have you seen the polls? Approx. 40% of medical professionals WILL be “retiring” now that this has passed.
Are you people ready YET?
I’ll have to start calling my docs and see which ones are staying, and which ones recommend what to do when they leave ASAP.
Thanks for the ping!
I also heard on a talk radio program tonight that doctors are going to refuse Medicare patients. They will only be getting reimbursed 50 cents on $2.00, it’s not worth it. Obama lied when he said everyone would keep their doctor. Wait till seniors find out about this!
Well, they may as well enjoy it while it lasts, cause come Judgment Day, they’re not going to be really happy about the consequences.
Nobody seems to know exactly what the 2500page behemoth has in it, but we do know that all these unfunded mandates (esp. no pre-existing conditions, etc.) are all but guaranteed to break private insurers.
That’s the whole strategy (Cloward-Piven, et al); to collapse the private health insurance market, necessitating government takeover.
Prayer and fasting?
Against barbarians?
You’re suggesting that with adequate prayer and fasting during the first week of December 1941, the first Sunday of the month would be “just another Sunday” in history?
No.
Putting words in my fingers is not wise.
Prayer and Fasting MAY . . . be used of God as a spiritually potent perhaps ‘spiritually legal’ option to alter what might have otherwise been.
Prayer and Fasting does NOT turn God into a vending maching for fleshly human preferences.
God is still God and always will be God.
However, HE INVITES US, EXHORTS US, CALLS US, ORDERS US TO PRAY.
IT IS HIS PROGRAM FOR HIS PURPOSES AND HIS GLORY.
We show our Love for HIM by our obedience to pray. He decides what to answer how and when.
I thought those points were understood.
I disagree with you, Bert, but you are a brave man to speak your mind about prayer. I wish more people did. Without candor, precious time is wasted.
Throughout history, the most successful of earthly people see little need for prayer. But then there are the strange wonders of the world that prove there are supernatural forces far more powerful than any person of flesh.
