I have a feeling that Pelosi has her votes and those who are being allowed to vote NO are announcing.

I agree.. Now it’s damage control for the Democrats...If they were having all night meetings I would be happy.

Maybe some of the noes who were wavering finally announced because they’re tired of being harassed and manipulated. By announcing, they tend to cut off the further attempts to twist their arms and/or bribe them.

Do we know for sure they aren’t having meetings?

Fox stated earlier today that the administration was going to have floor privileges. That means Rahmbo, Axelrod, etc., will be able to be there, on the House floor, twisting arms and making Chicago-style threats to recalcitrants. Hell, for all we know, zero may be there. This may be the time that the administration people break out the dirty laundry and closet skeletons to blackmail some members into yes votes.

Hell, Obozo might vote "Present" on the House side. They haven't followed the rules thus far, why break the streak now?

I’m only half-joking when I say that I can easily see one or more of the admin thugs elbowing aside one of the “no” voters, taking over their voting apparatus and voting “yes” for them.

I hope Boehner get his verbal roll call vote, which is still no guarantee we won’t see Chicago-style strong-arm voter fraud on the floor of the United States House of Representatives.

The historic vote, followed by the historic reversal few months later = historic fiasco.

The Democrats are being led to historic electoral slaughter in November by Obama, so he can try to win in 2012. Many of them understand that and want a sufficient payoff before committing political seppuku.

Or a car accident on the way in, or an emergency room visit (gasp ! health care costs !), a GOP’ers kid gets hurt in Texas and a no vote has to run away to an emergency. Mischief, mischief, is in the air today....

I see comments from time to time that imply that 216 NO votes are needed to defeat it. My understanding has been that 216 YES votes are required to pass it, and that it isn’t a matter of how many NO votes there are. In other words, if it’s 215 to 214, it still fails. Am I right or wrong?

And the MA Treasurer was on Fox just a few minutes ago to say that adding 400,000 to their state healthcare roles has nearly bankrupted the system and 11 hospitals are suing the state for more reimbursement or they are going to have to close.

Of course I don’t really know, but I’m under the impression its a margin of one vote needed amongst only the number in attendance. e.g. if there were only 401 members present, 201-200 would pass.

Keep up the good work Patriots! Here’s more that could vote no because they can’t change the Senate bill;

http://www.statesman.com/news/nation/late-push-yields-more-votes-for-health-bill-403891.html

House Democratic leaders were working to head off a possible revolt among 15 lawmakers upset that House-passed increases in Medicare reimbursements for local hospitals were removed from the legislation.

The latest bill contains Senate language that several Democrats said doesn’t do enough to overcome geographic disparities in Medicare reimbursements.

“We need to make sure providers are reimbursed more on value than volume,” said Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis., who’s undecided on how he’ll vote Sunday.

Another who won’t get the Senate bill changed to suit his constituents;

Walz(D-Mn) Inclined To Vote for Health Reform Bill(Mayo Clinic wants Payment Reform Language)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2475626/posts

Mayo Clinic has been pushing for provisions that would change how providers are reimbursed so that it is based on quality of care instead of volume of care.

Under the Senate bill, the payment reform provisions only apply to providers. He said Mayo Clinic wants to see that expanded to include hospitals, which was included in the House bill.
