This massively unpopular Health Care Monstrosity is being slammed through Congress for one reason... and the reason is not compassion for the poor. This bloodless "attack" is the major offensive in an obvious ideological war to force the American people into irreversable socialism.
The will of the people be damned. The Obama Doctrine is as Barack Obama has stated during his presidential campaign... to transform America. We are witnessing the overthrow of our political system and the destruction of our 234 year way of life.
Our country has fought numerous wars to protect our liberty. Virtual "rivers" of blood have been shed for over two centuries by American Patriots willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom. The Memorial Day holiday was instituted specifically to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice for our protection... Future Memorial Days will ring hollow after Sunday if this odious bill is jammed through and shoved down our throats.
I truly believe America is again at war and the Democrat Party is the enemy. A democratic republic means specifically that the will of the people is paramount. Totalitarianism deems a central and all powerful federal government dictates to the people.
I believe Sunday is the tipping point. Are we going to be free? Or are we going to do what may be necessary. Patrick Henry said it best... Read your history books... the few that are left and haven't been rewritten.
Hope they make it... otherwise....
That's not very likely but they don't understand. They actually think they are popular and Nancy Pelosi is smart.
Frankly we have the very dregs of our society serving in Congress today.
yes..and it’s the otherwise which is both honorable and frightening to imagine.
Agree but TARP is nothing compared to this Health care monstrosity..and NOT ONE Republican is voting for it. That is a miniscule and fading glimmer of hope for a peaceful resolution.
Hope so... not holding my breath.
TARP was over $700 billion before the perks were added on. You call that nothing?
The Republicans support one enemy - the bankers, while the Democrats suppor the other enemy - our Marxist government.
They ALL need to go.
AT least by doing this, the overlords master of our universe in DC might think twice before ramming any more crap down our throats.
Sure but... that only masks the symptoms... the disease still has to be excised. The coalition of the "Taker" class and the Political Class have formed a styrong alliance... The combining of ENVY and POWER>\.

To be fair to Lincoln, he needs to be judged in the context of the times. Right or wrong, most likely a little of both, he did hold the "United States" together and I think for the better. Many arguments have been made on both sides of the issue whether he was a tyrant or savior. He did save a nation
In the context of today political environment, I see it more of a battle to stop from being moved to one form of government to another by force rather than the question of who gets liberty. In the long run all Americans lose their liberties to a certain degree rather than answering the question of can states sanction slavery and the right to be a sovereign entity
I stopped that years ago. We do not patronize anyone, anything or any entity that supports any the policies destroying this country as much as we can possibly know about them.
COMPARATIVELY speaking... A one time "heist" compared to PERMANENTLY controlling 1/6th of the American economy...
I’m declaring war back....
Long live Carl Drega.
I can't agree more. That's why an argument for state rights makes so much sense. The states can impose sanctions on them by not funding federal mandates and force the "taker" class to move to states that do. Thus, burdening these states (blue) to the point of being bankrupt.
Florida is a great example. The state made it very hard for illegals to get car insurance. Tied buying insurance to their "fake" SS number database. Many could not buy a car without insurance and no car, no job, go back home to your crap hole country.
They are both egregious sins, and all office holders voting for either one (Democrat or Republican) should be summarily cast out of office.
Um, see "Animal House".

I like it...
We're talking about our personal LIBERTY and what we need to do to preserve it... not just an everyday political grievance no matter how vexing.
and free society and just government
0bummer (aided by ballwashing fellow demonrats) is fulfilling his destiny to make the US a powerless, non-factor in world politics. The King is Coming, and the accompanying story does not include (the) US, as part of the play.
$700 billion+ is a "political grievance".
Do you understand how absurd that sounds?
As long as you're willing to support people who enslave us (no matter what the party) then you have no inkling of what liberty even means.
God ordains liberty - not slavery.
