Sarah Palin Asking for Over $1 Million Per Episode for Reality Show.
New York Magazine ^ | March 19, 2010 | Josh Duboff

The project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode.

Sarah Palin is following a trajectory more Kardashian than politician, demanding a big paycheck in her quest for reality-TV stardom. After shopping her “TV docudrama” to major broadcast and cable networks, two channels — A&E and Discovery — have expressed interest in the project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode, considered a “hefty amount for a first-year cable series.” The show — executive-produced by reality-television guru Marc Burnett — will feature the former governor touring her home state, completing activities such as visiting fishing boats or trekking to a gold mine. There had better be a caribou-hunting episode or else this really has no business calling itself a Sarah Palin Alaska show.

You will agree that she was $500K in debt from legal fees and going deeper. Now I imagine you would have just kept letting those fees go and bankrupt you, so as not be a quitter? You would let the gummit continue to be shut down and your staff run up legal bills too so as not to quit right. Yeah, that would show them.

Rather she walked away from her lame duck year and wrote a book telling her side of the story making $5 Million and another couple $Million from FOX as well as campaigning this fall. Looks to me like she jump started her campaign rather than quit. Bet obozo wished she were still Governor.

Pray for AMerica

“You call being destroyed financially a flimsy excuse?”

I get so tired of hearing the Palinistas trot out her lame excuses for resigning as if they were the word of God. The state wasn’t being bankrupt, it wasn’t deadlocked, her legal defense fund had enough money to cover thos legal bills over a hear ago before it went into hyper secrecy (who knows how much is in it now but I’m guessing over a million) and her comments on how it was affecting her family are going to look pretty lame if she runs for Prez when the pressure and glare will triple.

IF she does run, and I doubt she will unless it can make her even more fabulous, her opponents are going to blow each and every one of those excuses out of the water and make her look like a liar and fool.

Palin knows this, she knows resigning took her out of the political office game for good, and anyone still clinging to hope that she runs, and more importantly that she can win, is delusional beyond descritpion.

But the PalinGestapo will continue to attack and harass anyone who professes otherwise.

Oh I’ve been on the ditz wagon from day one and see her as the wave of the future. You can cling to those old tired cronies, but I like her as a breath of fresh air. I don’t and never have gone w/the Establishment Media’s choice. I like who they hate the most and right now that’s Palin.

Freepers never have been known to stay in the line of fire for very long. Look how fast they jumped off the Iraq war when things got tough, they were all for cutting our losses, some of us stayed. Same here.

Running for President is expensive...

After watching her decisions since last year, I've come to the conclusion that either she has no desire to run for President, or her teenage daughter is now her publicist.

If she continues down this road, she'll do nothing but reinforce the caricature, and that'll be a lot of potential gone to waaste.

You were saying ...

isn’t there a show featuring OTR drivers making trips up and back?

You must be talking about the Ice Road Truckers, where they drive on ice roads, across ice on lakes and on the open ocean, which is a great show... :-)

AND SO..., if big trucks driving across "ice roads" can go for four seasons (still going on)... then heck! -- Sarah Palin can sure get going something like what Alaska is all about, touring across the whole of Alaska with Sarah Palin being featured...

I would say it would be a "big go!" -- for sure... good buddy... catch you on the flip-flop! :-)

..her legal defense fund had enough money to cover thos legal bills over a hear ago before it went into hyper secrecy...

You conveniently forgot to point out that by ruling of the state of Alaska Personnel Board, not one penny has been allowed to be spent on Palin's legal bills. In fact, APB has basically said the good' ol boys in the Alaska legislature need to write a new law to fix the problem. She'll likely never see a penny of that money.

Additionally, most internet reports put the size of that fund at less than half of her bills.

Not only are you a liar, you're a smear artist of the highest order.

Palin probably made 10 million last year.

If she gets this series, she should make 10+ MILLION THIS YEAR.

And next year, with another book, 20 million.

She is marketing herself quite well. God bless her! She isn’t going to run for political office again.

Poor little victim from the Palinista gestapo. Its called standing up for people you support. Give us an alternative before you decide to destroy one of our own. She had 18 mos left in her term which meant one more session.

Can you document the legal defense fund having enough to pay those bills. You obviously are more connected than most. Why should she have to run a LDF? So your fine w $oro$ legally harassing her since she is the most powerful person against obozo.

She is a powerful voice that you need to destroy for whatever reason. Now anybody who defends her needs destroying too? Not getting it.

Pray for America and Gov Palin

BTW - When I say “can’t win” I mean the general election. I have no doubt Palin could win the primary. Romney isn’t well liked across the board and a lot of the Huck evangelical votes could go to Sarah if he falls out. Unless a new candidate appears on the horizon it may well come down to Romney and Palin.

But I think Palin winning the general, with her high negatives and the resignation albatross around her neck, is about a one in five propisition.

Oh I’ve been on the ditz wagon from day one and see her as the wave of the future.

She's an amateur with potential, and right now she's a celebrity who doesn't seem to be all that interested in filling in the gaping holes in her resume. If that's the wave of the future .... we're in deep trouble.

If Sarah Palin gets down to Arizona while filming the Alaska series... we'll talk about McCain's cut... LOL ...

It seems the Networks have passed on it, she’s down to Disc and A&E. Even NatGeo wasn’t interested.

You mean the same networks that won't balance their evening news programs as they bleed market share from pushing incessant liberalism? And the same NatGeo that shills discredited AGW propaganda? These networks will avoid Palin because they would rather lose money than do anything that could REMOTELY push conservatism.

Now you've gone from siding with O'Reilly to siding with the MSM to make a pointless point, Bob. Every time I think you can't possibly get more pathetic, you prove me wrong.

Look r9 there is an enemy right now and it isn’t Gov Palin. Rather than using your energy to destroy Palin why don’t you go after the real enemy. What does this accomplish? She is a powerful voice and you want to silence it? Why are you even doing this, for your ego?

Pray for AMerica and Gov Palin

You were saying ...

If she gives up on being as viable candidate—and if she wants to be one, she should be studying foreign affairs like crazy—she’ll find her appeal dropping rapidly.

If her appeal is dropping rapidly, it sure seems that the press is stuck on writing all about her, still to this day...

I find that press and other people tend to try to "knock down" someone who is popular, not someone who is already on their way down... doncha know... LOL ...

Why do believe anything in the media? They are wrong all the time but people keep falling for it. Wait until it is on Conservatives for Palin.

You were saying ...

I can only conclude Sarah's dabbling in gollywood is in lieu of serious preparations for higher political office.

Ummmm..., I think it's more about exposure to the general public and getting to see her as a normal person, not a charicature that many tried to make her out to be before (and who are still trying to do now...).

No, that's a good game plan for her, get exposure... and let me tell you something else... for those shows (the type that she's talking about) -- just doing one of these types of shows -- it will have so many "re-runs" (they run those like crazy, over and over again) that everyone will be dreaming "Sarah Palin" in their sleep after seeing those shows run and re-run so many times... LOL ...
