The project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palins Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode.
Sarah Palin is following a trajectory more Kardashian than politician, demanding a big paycheck in her quest for reality-TV stardom. After shopping her TV docudrama to major broadcast and cable networks, two channels A&E and Discovery have expressed interest in the project, which is tentatively titled Sarah Palins Alaska. Palin is asking for $1 million to $1.5 million per episode, considered a hefty amount for a first-year cable series. The show executive-produced by reality-television guru Marc Burnett will feature the former governor touring her home state, completing activities such as visiting fishing boats or trekking to a gold mine. There had better be a caribou-hunting episode or else this really has no business calling itself a Sarah Palin Alaska show.
Didn’t those lamebrains work on TV for several years and build a money-making show before earning that much?
How much did they make in their first season and did their prior experience as actors help determine their initial contracts?
If Sarah makes some good money, HURRAH!
If Sarah increases tourism and interest in her beloved State-HURRAH!
This is not getting lost in the jungle and eating bugs to survive.
This is a documentary regarding the interesting and truly AMAZING geographical, animal and environmental places and life her State provides.
Good for Sarah. What an AMAZING idea.
I am SO GLAD she is not eating out at the nearest lobster restaurant and spending all day blogging and living off her book earnings.
She has MUCH to say and MUCH to show and MUCH to do and well, just GOOD ON SARAH!!
It seems the Networks have passed on it, she’s down to Disc and A&E. Even NatGeo wasn’t interested.
I’m not familiar with the cable business but I find it hard to believe she could get a million per episode for what amounts to a travelogue show about Alaska that half the viewers are going to hate because they don’t like Palin.
It will be another “Rush goes to ESPN” story.
Are you suggesting those airheads are more important or influential than Sarah Palin?
Sarah Palin’s value to America is incalculable as we see from the hysteria of those who are deranged at the very mention of her name.
Next we'll hear that her co-star will be Paris Hilton and the "following" here will be praising her for her keen capitalism skills etc.
Sometimes even the good guys sell a little bit of snake oil.
And also has to be humble enough to know what he doesn't know.
The narcissist currently in the Oval Office is an interesting case ... he has all those sophomoric ideas and ideals, and a narcissistic assurance that he has expert knowledge of all things -- and no real-world bruises and muscles to give him a sense of what's real and workable.
You'd think after what we've seen over the past year, folks would be avidly looking for a candidate who has already built up the muscle and background to step into the office.
I don’t see anyone complaining about Palin making money, I think the discussion revolves around whether she is serious about running for Prez or whether she’s just playing on her celebrity to keep interest high among her fans and supporters to increase the value of projects like this Alaska documentary show.
You can treat your hyperventilation by breathing into a paper bag.
You call being destroyed financially a flimsy excuse? I call your bias against her a flimsy excuse, but then I don’t have your high standards in my politicians. For you to even pull the She Quit card is pathetic. She was being destroyed by $oro$ and made a great political move. Maybe you haven’t noticed she is the most powerful person besides the President even after this “mistake”.
Who’s your candidate so I can scrutinize him, Ron Paul?
Yeah, I’m great w/her doing it her way. I’m fine w/her having a weekly 1 hour commercial while raising funds to do what she wants. I’m fine w/her tapping into the new media and running circles around RINOs like Mitt. Its a new era my Friend and these things work.
Pray for America
I'm saying that over the ten year run of the show they made hundreds of millions of dollars for NBC. That made them very, very important and is the only influence TV networks - or any other business - cares about.
Sarah Palins value to America is incalculable as we see from the hysteria of those who are deranged at the very mention of her name.
Apparently her value to her is $1 million to #$1.5 million per episode. It remains to be seen if America agrees.
You mean instead of a candidate who while being accused of conflict of interest issues, resigned the governorship (to save the state money you know)... And after resigning and the accusations “going away”.... began a successful speaking tour while on her way to reality TV? You mean a more serious candidate than that?
Fixed it.
I hope she continues to 'play' successfully on the mostly closed to 'outsiders' liberal playground!
She is powerful... and Obama got more than 53% of the the vote. So.. go figure.
She did quit. She couldn't take the heat. I'm fine with people buying her reason and excusing it. I personally hope our party can find better
I see they are still lying about the TV documentary, calling it a “reality” show.
Get lost, newbie dweeb.
I get it, only Liberal scumbags are allowed to ask for large paychecks.
Everyone in Sarah’s position would ask for the same. If she didn’t then I would question her thinking
And maybe you think none of that would pop back up again if she ran for president? And if she won (God help us...) you think they'd all play nice?
Maybe you havent noticed she is the most powerful person besides the President even after this mistake.
She's not powerful, Bray, she's a celebrity... there's a huge difference.
It's actually pretty surprising to see you on the ditz-wagon about Palin. You're usually a pretty trenchant observer.
I agree... the masses love to watch train wrecks and Idol and the rest of reality TV is just that. More power to him... I am just saying that she is worth more than that crap, no matter how popular Simon is.
