I know this is a lengthy post, but it is incredibly educational. If nothing else, please scroll down towards the bottom and read the last several paragraphs that detail my plan of attack [To all IRS/DHS listening, that means "non-violent response"] when my Census Form arrives. Print it out and use it as a template for yourself!
I recently heard someone say the time has come for some civil disobedience and the intrusive nature of the Census makes it the perfect place to start. I could not agree more. The American people need to draw a line in the sand and tell the reprobates in the federal government we will no longer tolerate their usurpations of power.
If the American people are going make a stand and go toe to toe with the federal government, then they need a basic understanding of some constitutional principles because these principles are universal and pertain to every power exercised by the federal government.
Constitutional Principles
Principle No. 1. The Constitution established a separation of power between the States and their federal government. James Madison explained this principle in Federalist Essay No. 45:
The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people; and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.

Don’t know about the form you folks received, but mine wanted the information as of April 1, 2010 , which has not arrived yet. I’m waiting til the first, to complete and mail my form.
I did the same. I figured they could easily get the information about me if they wanted to.
There are battles to fight....not so sure this is one.
May I suggest that if you choose this course of selective returning rather than simply not returning the document as many intend to,please consider that you may wish to black out with permanent marker the other questions to prevent any ACORN type from filling in the information that they may deem better suited to their progressive purposes.
What battle? You either give them info they are entitled to or you play along and tell them things that are none of their business. Jeez, it is no wonder that this country is turning into a socialist hellhole when the "conservatives" let the government intimidate you to the point that you give up information that you don't have to.

Everything on the form except the # of people is extremely intrusive!
Those were answered in large marksalot with: NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!
The best is if liberals moved out of liberal land and had their body counted in a conserative region.
Just mailed mine. I gave number of residents, sex, and ages. That’s all. At the bottom of the form I wrote, “ I have complied with the Constitutional requirements of a United States citizen regarding the US Census.”
So does mine (DEA) but I've had it with these thugs.

I can just see refusing to answer the questions and having some Census Progressives stop by my house while I am carrying (I always carry). I would probably be charged with threatening them for merely having the gun on my hip.
If you think I am going to throw my life away for some questions which the govt probably already has the answers to, think again.

That's why you should have video tape of every encounter at your home with government agents. An aluminum foil hat is optional but would be funny for your film debut..
I'm not trying to pick a fight with you -- you're probably a really nice person -- but your cowering attitude is extremely troubling in light of what is going on with our loss of freedoms.
If you fill out the basic information, you have nothing to worry about for the following reasons:
-If you’re tried for not filling out the census, what evidence are they going to present against you? The instant they take out your minimally filled-out form and present it as evidence, the particular census worker who gave up your info is liable for a $250,000 fine and time in jail, because the law clearly states that your census information cannot be used against you in a court of law.
-The max fine is only $100. People have told census workers that they are not going to fill out the form and asked to just be assessed the fine instead. They were not assessed a dime.
-There are too many people not filling it out for the court system to deal with.
-The last time people were assessed the fine was in the 1970’s.
-I think that if the case would go to court, the court might actually find that all of these “how many toilets does your family have” type questions would be found unconstitutional. They have to know that there are ANY number of people out there who are pissed enough with the federal government that they aren’t willing to give someone the opportunity to show that the emperor has no clothes.
I wouldn’t worry about it. I’d feel more scared giving them my information.
I am not cowering at all.....I simply acknowledge the fact that I can answer the question now, or whent he goons come.
I chose now. You can choose to fight them....that is your prerogative.
The census is meaningless unless and until they have separate categories for American Citizens (for congressional apportionment purposes) and non-citizens (for a sheer numerical count. I know the numerical count is unnecessary, but it’ll take an argument away from the libtards and I don’t mind scrolling past it on a form.
I was polled on this recently and the pollster asked if all the people should be counted. I asked “Do you mean all the citizens or every person within our borders?” and she had no answer. She was simply reading from a script, so I said “No.” I’m sick of having the illegal aliens treated the same as those of us that truly belong here.

10 years ago I told the census taker to get the f8ck off my property or I would have her arrested for tresspassing and slammed the door!
