They could just make the prices high on the food they already offer, so you won’t buy and eat so much of it. Oh, wait... they already do that.

Actually I would welcome this idea. At least we would get a larger variety of refreshments to choose from. Popcorn, candy, nachos and hotdogs gets old.

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

People in theaters are slobs, they spill food willy-nilly and the food sits there until some minimum wage teenager gets around to pushing a broom down the aisle.

Coke gets sticky, dries and eventually turns to a powder. Popcorn dries out, as do the rest of the concessions. Spilled chocolate snacks do not stink and rot.

Now, let’s make things ‘healthier’. Let’s have rotten apple cores, bananna peels and milk sitting in the aisles. Let’s invite hordes of cockroaches and pests by serving fruit and vegetables.

Who needs to bother actualy thinking a thought through; when the emotional return on a knee-jerk statement feels so good?

Great, $5 apples to replace $5 candy bars...

I may go to the movies once a year. Getting greasy buttery popcorn and a box of candy is an essential part of the experience, thank you very much.

I HATE my Sony DVD player - a replacement for a Panasonic that died...

I used to like Sony products, but this is just one more reason for me to never buy another Sony product again.

And to further advance politically correct agendas, he could also persuade the theaters to use seats and movie screens made out of 100% recycled materials and dim the lights sooner to save energy.

Hmmm... seeing a movie is the only time I permit myself the luxury of eating bad ... I loves me some popcorns (sans that anti-foaming agent they call “butter”) and Coca-Cola.

Sony boss asks theater owners for healthier snacks

Who is he kidding? He’s worried about serving healthy snacks? What about the unhealthy (immoral and disgusting) movies they are serving up?

I suggest Hollywood clean up their own act first. Then they can get around to saving their customers from junk food.

Better yet, follow my advice and boycott movies altogether. NOT ONE DIME!

Exactly. Which is why my "big purse" goes to the movies. We smuggle in ziplock bags of 94% fat-free popcorn, apples, carrots and celery, sugar-snap peas, etc.

Call me nuts, but I've had cancer and I've had enough poison put into my body, thank you. I ain't paying five bucks for more.

OK, we share a half-gallon cup of diet coke :-) Gotta draw the line somewhere, LOL!

As long as Lynton subsidizes the cost of what audiences won’t eat.

The theater I go to already serves Burger King, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. Can’t see that the other stuff you mention would be any worse. I just doubt that much of anyone going to the movies really wants a tub of raw veggies to snack on while they watch the show.
